Step Up Lesson 2

Isa.45:19 I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and declare only what is right.”

The step up lesson from the life of Enoch is, it is possible to please God and when we delight in what is in His heart, God will not deprive us of what is in His hands. Our focus is not on what is in His hands but rather on what is in His heart. We want God’s heart. However, the way God works is that He will not leave us without extending His hands to us. When you come into His Presence seeking Him, you will discover that in His Presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hands are pleasures forevermore.

Abel taught us about the giving side of faith. Enoch taught us about the walking with God aspect of faith. The third example, which is Noah, is teaching us another dimension of faith. Heb.11:7 It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith” [with emphasis]. Did you know that at the time of Noah, it had never rained before on earth?

So I imagine the conversation between God and Noah may have gone something like this. “Noah”, God said. “Yes Lord” Noah replied. “It is going to rain” God said. Noah said, “Rain?” What is that?” God said, “Rain is when water falls from heaven, son”. “Oh that is great. I am certain it would be really refreshing”. “It is when it falls a little at a time but this time, the water will not stop pouring until it wipes out the whole earth with a flood”. “Oh WOW! That is terrible” Noah responded. Then God said, “You are going to build a boat, Noah”. Noah says, “A what?” “A boat” God replied and He went on to describe a boat to Noah, gave him the dimensions, and told him how to build it.

And Noah believed God! Is that not foolishness? How can you believe what had never happened before? God is promising to do with you what your forefathers have never seen before. Are you going to believe and receive it or are you going to maintain the status quo?

Prayer: Lord, I declare in the Name of Jesus that I have the capacity to walk with God and please God and I will follow God even when it seems foolish to me, in Jesus Name. Amen!
