Step Up Lesson 3

Heb.11:1 “Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” [with emphasis].

Faith is not God can prosper me. Faith is knowing that God will prosper you because He already has prospered you. You are blessed already. People will challenge you, “How can you say you are blessed when you are still using ‘legedis benz’ [slang for not having a car]?” Let this be your response, “You do not just see it yet – I am blessed and you will see that I will be blessed!” If you maintain that position of faith, it is inevitable that you will be blessed and you will walk in the fullness of it. That is faith!

The step up lesson from Noah’s example is, if you want to see what eyes have not seen, you have to be ready to do what eyes have not seen. You cannot be doing what is regular and expect the extra ordinary. If you want to follow God, you must follow God – just follow God! I gave my life to Jesus in my final year in the university. And my friends at the time were into what is normal for people that really do not know God. They laughed me to scorn and one of them in particular gave me three months to return to the boys.

This is over two decades after and instead of me going back to the boys, the boys are joining me in Christ. I give all the glory to Jesus. In fact, the one that gave me the three months ultimatum worships at God’s Favourite House; him and his entire family are saved. The objective of sharing this is to teach you that you cannot turn your back on God because of what people are saying. If you stay with God long enough, God will make you so beautiful that all the people that ridiculed you, will want to be your friend and serve your God.

The fourth example of stepping up by faith is Sarah. Heb.11:11 “It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise” [with emphasis]. The Bible says “even Sarah”; it shows us how serious her case of barrenness was. It also means that it was a lost case ordinarily. However, it says even Sarah was able to have a child; in other words, even you will have your children.

Prayer [Hymn]: …What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in All, here in the love of Christ I stand. Amen!
