Knowing & Understanding

Isa.53:4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. 5 But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.”

I pray that the whipping that Jesus took on the cross will not be in vain in your life. I also pray that the turmoil and storms in your life will be still. I pray that you will have real peace and that the chastisement of Jesus will not be in vain in your life. It is so important that we avail ourselves of everything that Jesus has bought for us.

The Cross is so fundamental to our walk with God. But sadly it is one of the most misunderstood things among Christians. Some Christians do not even want to touch The Cross but it is too important to be neglected. And it is because the key is The Cross and The Cross is the key. It is only when we die to self that we can experience and unleash the resurrection power in our lives. You and I must decide, whether to obey God or obey self. When you are god of yourself it will always lead to destruction. But when you allow God to be God in your life, it will always lead to abundant life. I pray that you will choose God daily.

Human beings are very boastful, even from a very young age. Children can boast about anything and everything. To boast is to talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about achievements, possessions and abilities. People boast about wisdom, about beauty, about power, about riches, they boast about anything and everything that they possess and they believe it gives them an advantage. We boost so much that we boast about our boasting. We call it our “swag”.

However, when we look into God’s Word, God allows us to boast only about certain things. One of the things God allows us to boast about is in the knowledge and the understanding of God. Jer.9:23 This is what the Lord says: “Don’t let the wise boast in their wisdom, or the powerful boast in their power, or the rich boast in their riches. 24 But those who wish to boast should boast in this alone: that they truly know me and understand that I am the Lord… I, the Lord, have spoken!” This is tricky because the more you grow in the knowledge and understanding of God you really cannot boast because it humbles you.

Prayer: God, I ask that You give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You and that the eyes of my understanding will be enlightened, in Jesus Name. Amen!
