Be More!

1 Sam.1:11 And she made this vow: “O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.”

We are not asking just to get more from God, we are asking of God so that we can be more for Him. God is going to saturate your life with favour, in the Name of Jesus. Esther asked for favour so that she can save God’s people, so that she can be more for God [Please read Esther 2:17]. At a point she was confronted by her uncle, “You have this favour so that you can be more for God. If you sit down and do nothing, do not think deliverance will not come. It will come but that favour will be withdrawn” [paraphrased]. That is what Mordecai was saying. The favour on your life is not just for favour sake. We are not asking just to get more from God, we are asking to be more for God.

God is going to anoint you with the double portion of anointing. Elisha asked for the double portion to represent God, so that he can be more for God. Elisha did not ask for the double portion so that he can show off, he asked so that he can be more for God [Please read 2 Kings 2:9-10]. We are not asking so that we can get more from God, we are asking so that we can be more for God. God is going to bless you, every curse in your life is going to be destroyed and replaced with a blessing, in Jesus Name. Jabez asked for a blessing so that he can become a blessing [Please read 1Chr.4:9-10]. Jabez said, bless me and make me a blessing. Jabez was not asking just to get more from God, he was asking so that he can be more for God.

You are going ask but I want you to adjust your asking so that it can get the attention of heaven. The presence of God is going to saturate your life today and beyond. David asked for God’s presence in Ps.27:4 The one thing I ask of the Lord—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, delighting in the Lord’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.” Why do you think David hungered for God’s presence so much? It was so that he can love God more. We are not asking for more to get more from God, we are asking to be more for God. God will show you His glory in Jesus. Moses asked to see God’s glory so that he can know God more [please read Ex.33:18]. He was not asking so that he could get from God, he was asking so that he can be more for God. What are you asking for, what request are you putting before God today? Is your motive to get more from God or to be more for God? God is going to show you mercy. God is going to overlook the negative things that you rightfully deserve because of your bad behavior. The tax collector in Luke 18:13-14 asked for mercy so that he can be an instrument of mercy.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, please give me a heart that is totally sold out to God, in Jesus Name. Amen!
