In Him
Ps.85:8 “I listen carefully to what God the Lord is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. 9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory.”
Many of us do not know that we are living uncommon lives. In some cases, we do not even know what it is to live an uncommon life. There are three different aspects of the uncommon life; a peaceful life is an uncommon life, a prosperous life is an uncommon life, and a protected life is an uncommon life. The challenge is that we do not appreciate the fact that our lives are really uncommon, we think our lives are ordinary and common. So, when we face challenges, and things hit us, many times we just want to say down. But God is saying to you get back up. The question is not if you will or have been knocked down. The question is are you going to stay down? Yes, your finances have received a knock or perhaps it is even your health, your marriage, or your relationship with God.
Sometimes, even for those in ministry, life has happened, we have failed, and have been knocked down. We do not even want to get up, we do not even want to talk about Jesus anymore. We feel deflated and defeated by life’s challenges because we just think there is no point. Again, I say to you by the Spirit of God, get up and do not stay down! Get up! The question is not if you have been hit, the question is are you going to stay down? God’s Word says the righteous man falls seven times and gets back up again (Prov.24:16). Even if you have fallen nine times, you still have not earned the right not to get up. The word “seven” in that scripture means the perfect number of times of falling. For some people, their perfect time of falling is perhaps the tenth time but God says you will still get up. Do I get an Amen?
A peaceful life is an uncommon life. To have a peaceful life is to have an uncommon life. Many people are doing so many things just to get peace of mind and that is why addiction is on the rise. Some people are addicted to pain killers, some to sodas, and some to food. Some are addicted to their phones. The phone has become a baby that you caress, and it must not lose charge. You wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is to worship your phone instead of bowing to Jesus. You do not have peace of mind if you are doing that. Guess what? It is the peace of mind that all these people are after, not the addiction but there is no peace in the world (John 14:27). God wants you to have a peaceful life. Declare it out loud; God wants me to have a peaceful life.
Prayer (song): You are my peace (3x), and I worship Thee! Amen!
