Humble Your Heart

James 4:¹⁰ “Humble yourselves in the Lord’s presence. Then he will give you a high position, and he will make you great.” [GW & ERV]

I humble myself because God resists the proud. I humble myself because God gives grace to the humble. Humble yourself because it is the key to your lifting. Humble yourself because it is the key to your promotion. 1 Peter 5:⁶ “So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honour.” When God decides to lift you, no one can stop Him. However, the key to that lifting is humbling yourself. You can do it, humble yourself and God will lift you. Humble yourself because pride is a signal for destruction. Prov.29:²³ “Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honour.” Prov.16:¹⁸ “Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.” Prov.11:² “Pride leads to disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”

In the video game, Call of Duty [for those who play it], with ariel support, you can mark an enemy territory and your air force will destroy the place. But when you mark the place, you better leave because the air force will reduce that location to rubbles. What pride does is that it marks the forehead of the proud for destruction, it marks it for heavenly target, for satanic attack. You do not want to be marked negatively. I pray that anyone that has been marked negatively, today God will wipe away the mark in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

Humble yourself because pride is essentially satanic and demonic. Pride is not in the essence or the makeup of God. Pride is in essence, the makeup of satan. Job 41:^1&34 “Can you catch Leviathan with a hook or put a noose around its jaw? … Of all the creatures, it is the proudest. It is the king of beasts.” Leviathan is a type of the enemy. This scripture speaks about the nature of the enemy. In fact, what made Lucifer lose his place in God’s Kingdom was pride. He was well adorned with musical instruments. In other words, he does not need an instrument, music just flows from his being. He was strong and powerful, one of the three Archangels. But one day, he said in his heart… Pride always starts in the heart; the person may still be looking good and pious. You need to guard your heart, watch your heart.

Pride started in satan’s heart; he said, ‘How come God is the only one up there? I am going raise my throne to be like the Most High.’ (paraphrased from Isa.14, please read). In other words, what is the big deal about the Most High? Does that not sound logical? However, anyone who tries to promote himself or herself is asking for heaven to humble him or her. Many people have promoted themselves into destruction, they have embraced things that they have no business embracing. Why? Lucifer said, ‘like the Most High’ because he knows that is the highest possible place. And God said, there can only be One sitting on the throne in the highest, and the rest is history. He was cast down, he is troubling earth, but his judgment is here and coming.
