Get Understanding

Genesis 13:^14-15 “…the Lord said to Abram, “Look as far as you can see in every direction—north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession.”

Anyone can dream, it does not cost anything to dream. God expects us to have big dreams. When you have a big dream, a God sized dream from heaven, God always supplies the provision. When there is vision, there is always provision. However, it is primarily not about the money because the people you impact, the lives you change are more important than the money you make. That big dream for your business should not be primarily because you want to make a huge amount of money. It is good to make a huge amount of money and you will make it in millions, billions, and trillions in Jesus Name. But really the lives you change are more important than the money you make. Therefore, it becomes money with a mission.

Dreams are indispensable, totally indispensable. What is a dream? A dream is basically a mental picture of what could be. To have a mental picture of what could be is to have a dream. For your business, what is the mental picture of what could be, what can you see? For your life, what is the mental picture of what could be? But not everything that could be, should be. The fact that you have a mental picture that you are going to be the president of the most influential nation on earth, I am not saying it is impossible. How do we distil and understand the dream that we should pursue? We call the dreams that we should pursue a vision. A vision is a mental picture of what could be and should be because not everything that could be, should be. There are some things that could be and should not be. A classic example is the menstrual cycle of a woman. Every cycle could be a child, but should every cycle be a child? It would be ridiculous for a woman to insist that every menstrual cycle could be a child so it should be. There are many things I could be doing with my life because by the grace of God, I am gifted to do so many things and most of them are very profitable.

Many multi-talented people have and understand this. However, the question is, because I can do xyz, should I be doing xyz? Remember, the fact that something could be does not mean it should be. If you have a dream, you need to ensure that it is a dream worthy of your pursuit, a vision from God. So, how do you move from what could be to what should be? How do you qualify the dream? How do you pass it through the tunnel so that in the end it becomes what it should be, and you can invest your life into it?
