Doors
Revelation 4:1 “Then as I looked, I saw a door standing open in heaven, and the same voice I had heard before spoke to me like a trumpet blast. The voice said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must happen after this.”
Doors are a consistent concept in Scripture. In fact, doors are mentioned about four hundred times in the Bible. We have been engaging the concept of doors representing the options of the future that is ahead of us in this decade of destiny, this decade of light. Light gives options, once light comes on, we can see our options clearly. Behind every door, there are other multiple doors that we have to walk through, and this highlights the need to choose a future. If you are to thrive spiritually, you must know and understand how doors function because sometimes God shuts doors, and at other times He opens doors.
Very often, we walk through doors in life totally unaware that we have just walked through a door. Picture this; God opens a door before someone, and the person walks through the door, but totally unaware that he or she has walked through a door. And because the person is unaware that he or she has walked through a major door, he or she cannot thank God. Indulge me, shut your eyes and mentally count how many doors you have in your house. How many are there all together – two, five, eight, nine? A door can be an entrance and a door can be an exit. A door can represent acceptance and a door can represent rejection.
In the Bible, there are several implications of doors for the different things in our lives. There is the entrance door of salvation, the passage door of discipleship, the service door of ministry, the outside door of missions, the access door of prayer, and the holy door of worship. The Word of God is also a door; it is the mirror door of the Word. God’s Word is filled with doors. Your assignment is to locate other doors in the Word. Revelation 3:7-8 “I hold the Key of David in my hand. The doors that I unlock and open, no one else can close. And any doors that I shut and lock, no one will ever be able to open. Now I know everything you have done. So look! I am placing before you an open door that no one can shut! I know that you are not very strong, but you’ve kept my word and you’ve been faithful to me.” (CEV, paraphrased with emphasis).
I pray that every door of disaster, disappointment, and debt will be shut against you in Jesus Name. No matter how hard you try, such doors will not open to you in Jesus Mighty Name. The doors of progress, promotions, and provision will be open to you in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Prayer: Father, I receive the grace to see and enter the doors You have opened for me, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
