Like A Tree!

Psalm 1:3 “He will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design, deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of life. He is never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous.” (TPT)

I have good news for you today. If you are in a tight place, you are like a tree. You are going to survive this season and begin to think long-term. Why does God compare us to trees? Another reason is in our operation. Psalm 1:1-3Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.” (NIV, emphasis added).

God is saying that you are like a tree planted by streams of water, flowing from His presence and guess what? Your leaf will not even wither. When the natural trees go through harsh seasons, their leaves wither. However, God is saying you are an ever green, ever leafy and ever fruitful tree. Additionally, whatever you do prospers. Isaiah 37:31And you who are left in Judah, who have escaped the ravages of the siege, will put roots down in your own soil and grow up and flourish.” You will escape whatever ravages (devastations) are going on even now, in the Name of Jesus. Even if the world is under siege, even if everyone is surrounded by unseen enemies. You will survive, in the Name of Jesus.

Furthermore, because we and our families will survive it in the Name of Jesus, God says we will put roots down in our own soil, grow up and flourish. Do you receive it? We will grow roots downwards and we will bear fruit upwards. God is likening us to trees again. We are going to weather this storm and overcome this challenge. When it is all said and done, our roots would have gone way into the soil, and guess what? Our fruit will be in full view for all eyes to see.

Everybody would wonder – how come nothing touched us. And we will say, because we are like a tree. It is exciting to have fruit, to grow up and flourish. After all, God has said arise and shine, gear up and be excellent. However, God is saying that we need to grow roots downwards so that we can bear fruit upwards. We need to put down roots so that we can grow up and flourish.

Prayer:  Father, I am planted by Your design, by the brooks of bliss. I bear fruit in every season. I am never dry, never fainting, ever blessed, ever prosperous, in Jesus Name. Amen!
