Check Feed

John 6:⁵⁷ “Just as the living Father sent Me and I live by (through, because of) the Father, even so whoever continues to feed on Me [whoever takes Me for his food and is nourished by Me] shall [in his turn] live through and because of Me.” (AMPC)

To make the most of your life, to have mental metamorphosis, to experience and enjoy consistent mental health the first thing is, Do Not Believe Everything You THINK. 2 Corinthians 13:⁵ “Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves…” (NIV). Even when it comes to the most important thing in your life, which is your faith, God says to test yourself and see if you are still born again. Meaning that it is possible to have a title in church and not be reckoned in heaven. It is possible to have a position in church and not have a placement in heaven. People can call you Deacon this or Pastor that, yet as far as heaven is concerned there is no record of you being in the faith.

God is saying the key to guarding against that is to test your heart and examine yourself. Therefore, to make the most of my mind and to have mental metamorphosis, I have to Test every thought. The second thing is, Guard Your Mind Against GARBAGE. The first thing you learn when it comes to computer education is garbage in garbage out also called GIGO. It means if you feed the computer garbage, the computer will give you garbage. If your code is filled with bugs, it is not going to run. The human mind is just like the computer. If you feed your mind with junk, your life will produce junk. If you fill your mind with fear, your life will produce fear.

If you fill your mind with suspicion; you are suspecting your siblings, your spouse, your parents, your colleagues, everybody. If you fill your mind with suspicion, guess what? Your life will be filled with a lack of trust and suspicion. Proverbs 15:¹⁴ “A wise person is hungry for knowledge, while the fool feeds on trash.” Are you feeding on trash? The scripture says whoever feeds on trash is a fool. The difference between the wise and the fool is not because of something they learn by their strength, it is the choices they have made. The wise choose to feed on knowledge, the fool chooses to feed on trash. Just like physical food, there are three main types of brain food. The first is toxic food that is absolute poison, absolute junk.

If you feed your mind toxic food, it is destruction. Examples are cult materials; if you are reading about cults, it is toxic. Pornography, feeding on porn is feeding on toxic food and the outcome is always destruction. If you are always watching shows like criminal investigation, the criminal mind, and crime scene. It is toxic and it leads to self-destruction, and it will destroy your mind.

Prayer: Father, empower me to actively test my own thoughts and guard my mind against garbage, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
