Release & Replace

Psalm 8:⁴ “what are human beings, that you think of them; mere mortals, that you care for them?” (GNT)

RELEASE Those Who Hurt You. One of the biggest misconceptions that a lot of us have is that if we forgive ‘them’, then they are free. No! When you forgive them, then you are free. It has nothing to do with them. They will reap the harvest of their actions in full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.  But you forgive them and set your heart free. Why is that important? It is important because when you do that your heart is free to be in sync with God. And guess what? When we forgive, heaven does not forget. You hear people say, forgive and forget. Forget is not in heaven’s dictionary. When we forgive, heaven does not forget.

How do I know this? Check the scriptures. Psalm 56:⁸ “…you have kept a record of my tears. Aren’t they listed in your book?” (GNT). If you are a child of God, every time you were hurt, every time you cried, God keeps a record of it. Every drop of your tears, my tears are recorded by heaven. Why is heaven recording it? It is because heaven keeps account. Romans 12:^17&19 “Never pay back evil for evil… never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God, for he has said that he will repay those who deserve it…” (TLB, emphasis added). When we forgive, heaven does not forget. Huge!

For me to experience emotional metamorphosis, transformation, and healing, REVEAL Your Hurt, RELEASE Those Who Hurt You. Thirdly, REPLACE Old Lies With God’s Truth. The reality of our existence is we have a brain that remembers things. So, the hurtful things that were said to you years ago, you tend to remember them. You still remember what your father called you. People said you are no good and you remember those words. They said you will never amount to anything and that keeps playing back in your mind. They called you stupid and dumb so whenever you want to attempt something big, you remember that.

They said, ‘why do you think you can be anything?’ Sometimes, it is people that are close to us that call us evil and tell us that we can never be great. But guess what? God is going to turn your situation around for good. Yes, He will. However, you have to learn to replace old lies, those things they said are lies, with God’s truth. Romans 12:² “…let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think…”. That is not all. Hebrews 2:¹¹ “Jesus, who makes people holy, and those who are made holy are from the same family. So he is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters.” (NCV). Jesus is not ashamed of you!
