Dominion

‘And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion… over every living thing that moveth upon the earth’ Gen. 1:28[KJV].

Every promotion from God attracts a new level of battle or opposition from the enemy camp. Every promotion requires a new level of responsibility and dedication. This is why God will not just land a blessing on you without growing you and preparing you for the battle or responsibility that might come as a result of that blessing. One of the mistakes some Christians make is that they assume that they do not have enemies. I have had a lot of Christians say to me that because they don’t wish anybody bad, no one would wish them bad. The truth is that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. Our engaging in combat is not against the human beings but the forces behind their actions. Even though we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, we have enemies that are flesh and blood. Do not let anybody deceive you. Jesus said that the enemy of the man would be members of his own household. Are the members of his household not human beings? Israel in pronouncing a blessing over Judah said ‘Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies’. I am praying today that God will give you dominion over your enemies in the Name of Jesus. Every enemy regardless of where they are hiding, your hand will be strong on their necks in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

To enjoy lasting dominion in all areas of your life, Jesus advises us to pray without ceasing. Pray about anything and everything. The man who built his house on the rock was taking dominion over the storms that will arise. This is why it is important to be diligent in seasons of corporate fast. And who says you are not paying for five years down the line. For some of us, if God will show us, there are certain things that are just waiting for us five years down the line. Dominion means sorting it out today. If it is going to happen three years down the line but you engage it today then you are proactive. But if you wait until you have a problem it is more difficult to pray but you will still have to pray. God has given you dominion but you must walk in it.

Prayer: Precious Holy Spirit, according to the promise of the Father give me foresight of things to come so that I can sort out what needs to be sorted out ahead of time, in Jesus Name.
