The Price

Psalm 75:^6-7 “This I know: the favour that brings promotion and power doesn’t come from anywhere on earth, for no one exalts a person but God, the true judge of all. He alone determines where favour rests. He anoints one for greatness and brings another down to his knees” (TPT)

We will kick off today’s devotional still looking at the experience I shared in yesterday’s devotional. God told me to give a certain amount to a couple, which I did not have. However, my mind went to a pair of suede shoes I had, and I knew what God required of me. I sold the shoes and took the money to the family. When I got there and delivered God’s message, the man called his wife in, told her what was happening, and she started weeping. I had to excuse myself and leave because a man does not cry, and I was about to cry. The point is these people own their own house, but I had to sell the best pair of shoes I had. Your obedience is about your destiny, not someone else’s destiny. It has nothing to do with why they did not sell a piece of their furniture and feed their baby. They had furniture and I am sure they had shoes too. So, why is it my own shoe, my one and only shoe that I had to sell? It is because it was me God needed to bless, so it was me that needed to sacrifice and that is huge!

If you keep comparing yourself with people and insisting that they do not need the money God has told you to give them, you are robbing yourself. You are the one who needs the blessing. John 2:⁵ “But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Just do whatever He tells you. Spiritual things do not respect logical formula particularly when it does not apply. Just do whatever He tells you! Spiritual things are not subject to people’s preferences. If you pay the price, you will be unstoppable. The spiritual only responds to sacrifice, the spiritual does not respond to preferences. For instance, you have a boss that has said you will not be promoted, and you are going around crying. Stop wasting your time because your promotion has nothing to do with your boss. If you pay the price for your promotion your boss cannot stop it. If your boss needs to lose his or her head, then so be it.

Take your eyes off people that are trying to harm you. Guess what? The only person that can stop you is you, no one else. God is on your side; He does not want to stop you. The only person that can stop you is you. You are the general of your life! When the price is fully paid and the clouds are loaded, nothing can stop heaven from releasing the rain. The reason you are not seeing it is that the price has not gauged. I need you to understand that this is the principle that your life is built on. There is no witch in the village that can stop it. If the witch insists, the witch will die. Why am I so confident? I am just an ordinary child of God that is teaching you what God is saying. Ordinary human but extraordinary in God. If you pay the price, heaven will release everything that is outstanding. Will you pay the price, or will you keep complaining? Will you keep whining or will you pay the price?

Prayer: Father, let it please You to anoint me with the favour that brings promotion and power. Anoint me afresh with Your Spirit of Counsel and Might, in Jesus Name. Amen!
