Just Ask

Luke 11:9-10 “So listen: Keep on asking, and you will receive. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened for you. All who keep asking will receive, all who keep seeking will find, and doors will open to those who keep knocking.” (Voice)

Most problems are wisdom problems and not money problems. I am an entrepreneur and by the grace of God, I have built businesses. I am remembering situations where you are stuck, and you think if only I can access funds. But guess what? All you need is wisdom. If you can get the wisdom, you will build that dream. Prov.24:3-4 Wisdom is required to build a house; understanding is necessary to make it secure. Knowledge is needed to furnish all the rooms and fill them with beautiful treasures” (Voice). Wisdom is a requirement to build. I pray the Name of Jesus, that your house will be built, that dream will be built. I pray in the Name of Jesus, that that house will be secure, and it will be furnished with beautiful treasures in the Mighty Name of Jesus. And the God of heaven is saying get wisdom.

The question is, how does one get wisdom? We have done a series on Wisdom based on the Book of Proverbs and it is also available for free on the GFH ThrivePodcast on iTunes. However, two things that are indispensable in getting wisdom. The first thing scriptures say is totally indispensable is, you need to Ask God. You need to pray for wisdom. James 1:5If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” You need wisdom, ask God. Sometimes, people need wisdom, but they do not want to ask even God for it, because they want to appear like they have everything together. Now, if you want to appear like you have everything together to people, it is understandable. For some people, they are not even vulnerable the person they want to appear to have everything together for is their spouse, they are not even vulnerable to their spouse.

But when you come to God, why are you posing? He sees your everything already anyway. So why are you pretending? When you come to God, you should be open and say to Him, ‘I need wisdom. I really do not know what to do in this situation. Lord, help me. I need wisdom’. I countless times, I have found myself in a fix and all I go to God for is not money. I do not pray for more money. I do not pray for my enemies to fall down and die. All I pray for at such time is wisdom. ‘Lord, Your boy has come. You know that I am not very intelligent. I need Your wisdom. Please open this door of wisdom to Your boy.’ Boom, it begins to flow. That is the secret, you cannot build anything without wisdom. Wisdom is indispensable.

The first thing to do to access the wisdom is to Ask God. I know that praying for wisdom is sometimes a cliche. But when you get to that place where you know that you cannot really move forward except God gives you insight. That is what I am talking about. When you get to that place when you know you need direction, divine direction. Then you position yourself to access the direction. That is when you are praying for wisdom.

Prayer: Father, open the door of wisdom to Your child, in Jesus Name. Amen!
