Be Satisfied

Hebrews 13:⁵ “Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never leave you; I will never abandon you.” (GNT)

To experience financial metamorphosis, Trust God As Your Source And Supplier, Keep Good Records, Give The First 10% Back To God, Save And Invest For The Future, Set Up A Repayment Plan To Get Yourself Out of Debt, and Budget Your Spending. To experience financial metamorphosis, the seventh thing is, I Must Enjoy What I Have. All seven are indispensable. God wants us to enjoy what we have, and it is really huge. Some people cannot seem to associate ‘enjoyment’ with God. But it points to the fact that they really do not know God. If you know who God is, you will know that God does not have a problem with you enjoying.

In fact, the word God uses to describe enjoyment is ‘Contentment”. You cannot be content with what you do not enjoy. Contentment is not a restriction. Contentment is satisfaction and enjoyment in what you have. Contentment is not about managing resources. Contentment is about enjoying it; therefore, you are content. 1 Timothy 6:⁶ “But godliness with contentment is great gain.” (NIV). In other words, Godliness with contentment (enjoying what you have), is great gain. Stop buying what you do not enjoy. Stop loading your children with toys and gadgets, meanwhile, you do not have time to enjoy the children.

Why spend so much money buying high heels? Then you come to Pastor’s office and have to take them off because your feet ache. One of my daughters does this a lot and I say to her, ‘But the shoes are expensive?’ ‘…very expensive Pastor’, she responds. ‘Why are you buying high heels that will squeeze your feet and make them ache?’ I ask again and she says, ‘Pastor, I have to slay!’ ‘You have to slay by punishing yourself? You are not even enjoying the shoes. Just get yourself some flats and enjoy the shoes.’ Am I saying you should not wear high heels? If you enjoy it, buy it. What I am saying is do not buy high heels that will punish you. Enjoy what you have.

You will not see me in three-piece suits a lot, because they make me very rigid, and I do not enjoy it. I wear it sometimes if the occasion demands it. However, day in and day out you will not see me in three-piece suits because it restricts me. People spend money on houses they do not even have the time to stay in or enjoy the house. The truth is God wants to bless you financially more than you know. Jesus says in Matthew 6:^31-32 “So don’t worry… your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to.” (LB). Give God first place in your life.

Prayer: Father, as I do these seven things, I will experience financial metamorphosis, in Jesus Name. Amen!
