With What?

Acts 1:⁸ “But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power…” (GNT)

There are so many things we can choose to fill our lives with. Unfortunately, sometimes we choose to fill our lives with anger and anxiety. And if we are to sum up the hours in our day, we will discover that a lot of it is filled with anger or anxiety. We are anxious about this, and angry about that. Sometimes, it is depression that has filled some people’s lives. Guess what? Sometimes, what we fill our lives with are seemingly “good things”. Things like hobbies, work, and activities. If you are given to any kind of hobby, if you are not careful, it can fill your life. Some people pride themselves in being workaholics. In other words, work is what fills their lives. Sometimes, as neutral, and as good as family is, family is what fills our lives. Some of us fill our lives with church activities.

However, God is saying you can have a full schedule and still have an empty life. Your schedule may be filled with “good things” such as family activities, work, church activities, hobbies, and the likes. Or your schedule may be the “bad things”, yet the life is empty. Full schedule, empty life. Does that describe someone you know? Or does that describe you? So, how do I get fulfilled in life? You get fulfilled when God lays His hands upon you, when the hand of God rests upon you. When the hand of God rests upon you, He fills you up with His Spirit. And it is the Holy Spirit that brings fulfilment. Guess what? You can actually have a full schedule and a fulfilled life. But that can only happen when God puts His hand upon you.

I pray that God will put His hands upon you in the Name of Jesus. God will rest His hands upon you in the Name of Jesus. When God rests His hands upon you, your life is filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:⁸ “But when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power…” (GNT). When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be filled with power, purpose, and with life. The truth is man is a container. Man is designed to contain something. So, what will it be? What will fill that life? Is it going to be filled with God’s presence, power, and God’s life? Or is it going to be filled with anxiety, worry, and depression? You cannot be filled with the life of God and with anxiety, depression, anger, pride, and bitterness at the same time.

Real power comes when you are filled with the Holy Spirit. I pray again that God will lay His hand upon you in the Name of Jesus. You will be filled with the life of God, the Spirit of God, and you will have fulfilment, power, and a meaningful life.

Prayer: Father, I pray that Your hand will rest upon my life consistently, in Jesus Name. Amen!
