David & Joseph

Isaiah 54:2-3 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.” (NIV)
Beginning today, we will look at Bible stories of people who experienced enlargement. God is going to use these stories to impact and enlarge our lives. Are you ready? The first is the story of David. If this story resonates with you, when we make pronouncements, just say Amen. If it doesn’t, just let it pass. Your own is coming. Now, there is a story in 2 Samuel 5:1-5. It is the story of when David was made the king of the two kingdoms – Judah and Israel, the combined kingdom. And that brought about enlargement for David. Why is this important?
David had already been anointed in his father’s house, but the only thing he oversaw were sheep. And after that anointing, David went back to being a shepherd boy. David’s second anointing was when he was anointed as the king of Judah. That was some enlargement in line with the prophecy that God had given. However, the third anointing was when he was anointed the king of all Israel. For some, you are already “king of Judah”. You are a king; you are controlling resources. You have authority and dominion. But you just have control over one-twelfth (less than ten percent) of all that God has for you.
There is going to be a consolidation of kingdoms, in Jesus Name. And the lesson from David is that there is always more in God. You are doing well, praise God! You will do over ten times better in the Name of Jesus. You have influence, praise God! Your influence will go ten times wider in the Name of Jesus. David did not relax until he got everything that God had promised him. I pray you will not relax until you get everything God has promised you in Jesus Name.
The second story we are looking at is the story of Joseph and it is a beautiful story of enlargement. Joseph moved from his father’s house to the pit, to Potiphar’s house, then to the prison, and eventually Joseph was made the prime minister of Egypt. The story of his coronation is in Genesis 41:38-44 (please read). One of the things that stands out from this passage of scripture is that where you were yesterday does not determine where you will be tomorrow. Joseph was in prison one day and the next day he was in the palace.
I pray, in the Name of Jesus, that God will turn every prison situation in your life into a promotion. I pray for everyone who has been given up on and written off, that you will be promoted supernaturally in the Name of Jesus. And like in the case of Joseph, you will take care of the people who have written you off in the Mighty Name of Jesus.
Prayer: Father, by Your Spirit enlarge my capacity so that I will receive and retain all that You have for me this season, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
