Joseph & Isaac
Psalm 136:21-22 “And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever: Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.” (KJV).
Yesterday, we looked at Joseph’s enlargement story. The first lesson from Joseph’s story is that God will create new territories for your enlargement in the Name of Jesus. The office of the Prime Minister did not exist in Egypt before Joseph, God created it for Joseph. How does this apply to you and me? There is something my mom used to say when we were growing up. She would say, “If God has determined for you to own a home in Ikoyi (particularly when we drive through the area), even if there is no available land there, God will break houses and give you the land. And you will build houses there.” And we will all say, Amen. That prayer is so powerful.
Sometimes, when you look at settings, and you are like there is no space (no room) here. God will create a space for you in the Name of Jesus. Like my mom would say, the houses they need to break down to clear the path for you to build what God has put in your heart, God will make it happen in the Name of Jesus.
The second huge lesson from Joseph is that you do not need to be number one to experience destiny changing and shaping enlargement. We often focus too much on being number one. Someone said to me some time ago, “I have never taken instructions from anybody. I cannot work for anybody in my life.” Meanwhile, the person in question just finished from the university. Yes, sometimes God takes some people through those kinds of paths. But there is something wrong with the kind of heart the person displayed. Sometimes, God needs you to learn and be under some people, ask Samuel. If you check, Joseph never became a Pharaoh in Egypt because he was not supposed to be a Pharaoh.
I am almost sure that Joseph did not pray that God would kill Pharaoh so he could take the throne. The only person who needs to die for you to be promoted died over two thousand years ago, and His name is Jesus. And with the power of resurrection, there is no height that God cannot take you to. So do not focus on the economic situation or on how tight things are. Focus on God because God will make room for you in the Name of Jesus. This brings us to the third story enlargement, the story of Isaac in Genesis 26:22 “Abandoning that one, Isaac moved on and dug another well. This time there was no dispute over it, so Isaac named the place Rehoboth (which means “open space”), for he said, “At last the Lord has created enough space for us to prosper in this land.” God will make room for you in Jesus Name. Amen!
Prayer: Father, I decree that no force of hell or scheme of men can stop my enlargement, in Jesus Mighty Name. Amen!
