Your Focus

Psalm 147:10-11 “He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man. The Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, In those who hope in His mercy.” (NKJV)

People sometimes forget the good things you do for them, so they throw you under the bus easily. Sometimes, I look at myself and I am like, really? Guess what? People do that every single time; Christians do it too. All this man could see was the process and the people, he could not see the mercy of God. Who set up the process? God. However, He is the God of the Sabbath, He is not bound by the process. He set it up to help us, but He is not bound by it. So, when I consider everything, I prefer to relate with God, not the process. The man was also fixated on people. I prefer to relate with God even as I relate with people. But if I relate with people, it has to be through God. Most times, we are stuck on the process.

Let us do it how it is done so that the outcome can be as it should be. And sometimes that is okay because God is a God of order. However, you must not lose sight of God even when the process is in place. Why? It is because if you keep your eyes on God, you will see when God is setting aside the process to work in your favour. But if you don’t keep your eyes on God, when He wants to set aside the process, you won’t see it. Instead, you would be holding on tightly to the process. Jesus said to Martha, I am the resurrection of the life. Martha said I know on the last day my brother will rise again from the dead. Jesus said that resurrection that you are waiting for on the last day, even though it will happen then, I am here bodily encompassed in the resurrection. So, whenever we are fixated on the process, we lose sight of grace.

Process and people were the two things that were going to rob this man of his deliverance. We have dwelt extensively on the process, so now let’s turn our focus to people. John 5:7 I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.” (emphasis added). I prophesy and I pray that you will always have help in the Name of Jesus. Someone will remember you for good. You will not lack help in the Name of Jesus. However, God can use people (man), but God doesn’t have to use people. But we MUST NEVER look to man (people) as our source.

Jeremiah 17:5 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.” (NIV). Relying on people turns your heart away from God, inadvertently, because your eyes are fixated on people.

Prayer: Father, in Your mercy, help me fix my eyes not on people or processes, not even on my strength, but on You alone, in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen!
