Acknowledge II

‘Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture’ Ps.100:3

Some people erroneously think and even claim that they are self-made. They do not acknowledge God because they feel that the money they have they got as a result of their own hard work. They believe that God is for the lazy man who does not want to work hard. We deceive ourselves that it is because we have two degrees or it is because we work very hard that that must be why we are successful. Yes it is good to work hard but you see the truth is except the Lord builds, they labor in vain that build. Except the Lord watches the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. I read autobiographies of a lot of people and they say they are self-made millionaires. There is nothing like that because if you check every one of such people’s lives, if they will be truthful, there is always a turning point that came that had nothing to do with them. In fact they call it luck. They call it seizing the opportunity being at the right place at the right time. Who brings the opportunity? God! Before you enter His gates with thanksgiving, acknowledge that He is God. As you approach seasons of waiting on God, approach it acknowledging that you have come to meet with God. What are we to acknowledge? Acknowledge that He is God. That is so profound. Everyone that comes to God must believe that He is – He is God. Acknowledging that He is God means, God is God and I am not. I once had a couple in church visit me, it just so happened that on that very day I had a painful stiff neck and I mentioned it to them. Out of kindness, the gentleman came over and helped me massage the area that hurt. And while he was doing this, each time I felt pain, I would scream. So they said to me, “people must not know that you feel pain like this”. I said, “Why, am I God?” God is God and I am not. If you want to set your self-free from high blood pressure, you must know that God is God and you are not. Don’t kill yourself trying to play God. Acknowledge that He is God. So the same way you pray for healing, I had to pray for healing. The same way you receive healing, I had to receive my healing.

Prayer [song]: You’re not a God created by human hands. You’re not a God dependent on any mortal man. You’re not a God in need of anything we can give. By Your plan, that’s just the way it is. You are God alone, from before time began…
