Witness
‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere… and to the ends of the earth’ Acts 1:8 [NLT]
‘You will be my witnesses’; we are witnesses for Christ Jesus. And all that we need to get the job done has been planted in us by the Holy Spirit. Although, you cannot stand as a witness to an event you did not witness otherwise you will be a false witness. In other words, you cannot begin to talk about sharing Jesus if you do not have Jesus. When you have Christ, there is pressure on you from Heaven to share Christ. Some of us do the necessary things by living well and having a good testimony. So we feel that as long as we are living well, our lives are a testimony and people will be saved because of our lives. Unfortunately, this is very far from the truth. What your life will do to them is stir up the desire to be saved. Your life will stir up in them the inbuilt desire in every man to seek out a greater purpose. The truth is that watching you alone will not save your neighbor or that family member who is close to you and far from God. It is like putting a hungry man in a house filled with food but giving him no access to the kitchen. This will only cause his hunger to more than double what it originally was. In actual sense you have not done him any good. This is the same as living a godly life but declining every opportunity to share Jesus. How can you have Christ in your heart and not share him. How can they hear except someone preaches and tells them about Jesus? Faith comes by hearing not by observation and hearing the Word of God. Since you are living right, God expects you to step ahead and share Christ. Living for God is necessary but it is not sufficient you have to share Christ. You and I must step out and share Christ. God is depending on you. Help people around you taste and see that the Lord is good; witness of God’s mercy and grace to everyone.
Prayer: Father, please help me take the testimony of Jesus in my life to the level of witnessing.
