Confronting God

Come now, let’s settle this,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool’ Isa.1:18

Before the fire falls, you will need to confront God. ‘Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD’ Isa.1:18a [KJV]. This means that God has granted us permission to confront Him. It is important to understand that confrontation can be either negative or positive. God knows that there will come a time in every man’s life where the only way forward will involve confronting God. Thus He says, ‘come now, let’s settle this’. However, in other to have access to settle or reason things out with God, your personal altar has to be in place. The altar is the place where man meets with God. It is at the altar that you lay everything bare before God. Elijah understood this foundational principle and as such before he confronted God, he set up the altar. Note that the altar is not fully functional until there is a sacrifice on it [1kings 18:30-34]. And the sacrifice that God demands is our lives presented under the Blood of the Lamb. Added to this is the sacrifice of prayer and fasting. Sacrifice could be a seed. There is a seed for every need. The altar must have a sacrifice because when the fire falls it is the sacrifice that it will burn up. Come boldly to the altar, by faith confront God and call for the fire. ‘…Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God… O LORD, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that You, O LORD, are God and that You have brought them back to yourself’ 1kings 18:36-37. God will show up at the altar, honour your faith, burn up the sacrifice and fight your battles. When the fire of God falls, amazing miracles happen. Accompanying the fire also are legions of angels, dispatched on your behalf. Thirst for the fire, build your altar, confront the enemy, release your faith and the fire will fall in Jesus Name. Still, you can’t ask for fire unless you are on God’s side or the fire will consume you. Bring your life to the altar and ask for mercy.

Thought: God extends you an open invitation, go to God and settle all that is outstanding today and watch the fire fall.
