Borrow Vessels
‘And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors’ 2 Kings 4:3.
Principle #6 is the principle of relationships. The principle of relationships simply states that you cannot fulfill your destiny alone. ‘And Elisha said, “Borrow as many empty jars as you can from your friends and neighbors’. You cannot reach this level of multiplication without your friends and your neighbors. Who are the people that God has put in relationship with you, or put you in relationship with? My job this morning is to help you see the importance of Read the rest of this entry
Locating Oil?
‘What can I do to help you? Elisha asked. ‘Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied’ 2 Kings 4:2.
Again, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the prophet did not have money in the house but he had oil. It would be a disaster if the prophet had money and didn’t have oil. Pause and calmly think about this. We have established that oil is something of value that you are good at, that you enjoy doing, and you will get paid for. If you have something that you enjoy doing and you get paid for but you are not good at it, then you are about to be fired. This is the simple truth. Read the rest of this entry
What Is Oil?
‘What can I do to help you? Elisha asked. ‘Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied’ 2 Kings 4:2.
Which is easier, when you are pursuing money or when money is pursuing you? Obviously it is easier when money is pursuing you. When money is pursuing you, won’t you just stop and tell it to catch you. Or what will you do if money is pursuing you? God is saying to you and I, if you focus on the oil, financial abundance will never be an issue. What is the oil? I am going to attempt to help us locate the oil. When we are done, you will see how seemingly simple it is to locate the oil. Read the rest of this entry
You Have Oil!
‘What can I do to help you? Elisha asked. ‘Tell me, what do you have in the house?” “Nothing at all, except a flask of olive oil,” she replied’ 2 Kings 4:2
‘So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jar to her, and she filled one after another’ 2 kings 4:5. Many of us are looking up to God for a miracle. But you see, God will not do by miracle what we can do in obedience. God has told you do ‘A’, just do it! It does not matter if ‘A’ does not make sense, or if it will cost you a lot, or if you have never done it before. God says, ‘I want to do what has never happened in your lifetime before. So I am going to ask you to do what you have Read the rest of this entry
Obey Divine Direction
‘So she did as she was told. Her sons kept bringing jar to her, and she filled one after another’ 2 kings 4:5.
In time past, I was driving in London and had to attend church. I did not know the routes so I had to drive using a GPS navigator. But that fateful, morning there was road construction going on and the GPS had not updated itself. It did not know that there was a roadblock so it took me right to it. And I began to wonder how I will get to church; of course the GPS was recalculating, and I did not want to get to church late. I wasn’t preaching, in fact they don’t even know me in the church. Divine Direction
‘Then at last the Lord said to me, ‘You have been wandering around in this hill country long enough; turn to the north’ Deut. 2:2-3
Principle #3 is the principle of divine direction. The principle of divine direction simply states that God knows your way out of poverty. Go and get that direction from Him. In the part of the world that I come from, they say ‘it is God that knows the path to wealth’ [Yoruba proverb translated]. In other words, there is something that you need to do to be successful but God alone know what it is. There is a path that the fowl of the air does not even know. There is a God in heaven that knows Read the rest of this entry
Responsibility & Loyalty
‘When she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, “Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over’ 2 Kings 4:7
Principle #1 is the principle of responsibility. God said to the woman, the first thing you do is pay your debt then live on the rest. The strange thing about a lot of us is that we don’t mind owing people and we don’t have a sense of responsibility towards them. How do you expect that you would prosper? It doesn’t work like that. My wife and I were running a business and we brought in these equipment for the business that were not cheap at all. There was one of them we were not using at Read the rest of this entry
Perspective, Attitude, & Wisdom
‘One day the widow of the member of the groups of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves’ 2kings 4:1.
Please read 2kings 4:1-7. This story is a classic in how to demolish poverty from a life. So I am praying today that by the time we are finished with this season, poverty will be totally demolished from our lives in the Name of Jesus. Is God blessing you and you have no clue on how that is happening? You have no clue on how God is doing the things that He is doing. There is a name for where you are and it is called the wilderness. It is only in the wilderness that God will be Read the rest of this entry
The Condition
‘For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Mark 8:36 [KJV]
The sixth truth is money actually grows on trees. The problem with a lot of us is that we are too lazy to go and pluck it. Secondly, we are too lazy to plant the seed, nurture it, and watch it grow into a tree. Then it starts to bear fruits of money and we begin to pluck it. Money grows on trees but a lot of us are not willing to farm. A lot of us want to be hunters – ‘small work, plenty money’ [Yoruba proverb translated]. I have heard entrepreneurs lament that a lot of the graduates and even Read the rest of this entry
The First
‘And [we obligate ourselves] to bring the first fruits of our ground and the first of all the fruit of all the trees year by year to the house of the Lord’ Neh.10:35 [AMP]
On Wednesday, I started telling you about how God convicted me. At the beginning of 2012 I struggled with paying my first fruit. I am sure this will shock a lot of you but even men of God must be honest with their struggles. I had a lot of bills to pay so I said to the Lord, you will understand. Then a lady came to my office, she wanted me to pray over her first fruit but she also wanted to tell me the story behind her first fruit. When she left my office, I was convicted and I said to myself, you are Read the rest of this entry
