Fair Hearing
‘Come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most’ Heb.4:16.
The third thing we learn from Luke 18:1-8 is, the fact that you are right does not automatically win the case for you. So what does? The lawyers call it advocacy. ‘The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’ Luke 18:4-5. Even though she was right, she did not get justice until she wore the judge out Read the rest of this entry
How Often?
‘Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?’ Luke 18:7
There are things that must be confronted spiritually and such things the enemy would have us just ignore them. You cannot afford to be ignorant of the enemy. Paul puts it very aptly, ‘do not be ignorant of the devices of satan’. In other words, the enemy would rather have us ignorant of his devices; but do not be. Of course there is the other extreme that sees the devil in everything. That is not what I am asking you to do. God does not want us to be paranoid and see the enemy in everything but Read the rest of this entry
Purpose of Promotion
‘When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m too much of a sinner to be around you.” For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had…’ Luke 5:8-9
Yesterday, we examined the Peter’s response to Jesus’ question – is it going to be about fishing for fish or fishing for men? Today we are going to examine the Luke response. Luke was a medical doctor when he met Jesus. After he met with Jesus, Luke remained a medical doctor. In other words, if he was a fisherman he remained a fisherman. But with Luke, it was not about the fish anymore. It was not about the trade anymore; it was about using that trade to help people connect to Jesus. So Read the rest of this entry
Passionate Influence
‘Come and see a man who knew all about the things I did, who knows me inside and out. Do you think this could be the Messiah?” And they went out to see for themselves’ John 4:19-20 [MSG]
We are all very different and have been called to serve in very different roles. But the ultimate purpose of our destinies is to connect people to God. And God is all about that – connecting people to Him. Imagine if people would say about God’s Favourite House, you should hear those people talk about their God. They are so fired up when they talk about Jesus. They get so pumped up when Read the rest of this entry
Make Money
‘Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave’ Prov.12:24.
God doesn’t want us to chase money. Please don’t chase money. God says ‘if you obey Me, these things [money] will purse you and over take you’. Money will be the one chasing you. Over the next few days we will be dealing with the five ways to relate with money. The first way to relate with money is Make Money. God wants us to make money. ‘Go sell the oil’ – go make money. Elisha was saying to the widow, go and make some money, go and sell the oil.
Make God Happy
‘So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image’ 2 Cor.3:18.
While praying, I often say thank you to the Lord for choosing me because I realize that in truth I could never have chosen Him. You too must understand that Jesus found you first and it was He who refused to let go. You can love Him because He first loved you. It is with this same confidence that we also as Matthew did arrange for the people in our lives to meet with Jesus knowing that He already has His eyes on them. Found people find people! Mathew arranged a dinner party. Think about it, it was a usual thing for his friends to Read the rest of this entry
God Found You!
‘The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?’ John 4:28-29
One of the best ways of saying thank you to Jesus is to follow Jesus step by step and to grow. Growing people change. And when you follow Jesus your life changes and it oozes out an aroma to God. Your life becomes a living sacrifice to God. The second way in my opinion of saying thank you to Jesus is to bring others to Jesus. In fact it is difficult to be really saved and to be quiet about it because found people find people. It is very difficult to keep quiet because if you are saved, you will have people that you love and you will be Read the rest of this entry
Give Yourself
‘But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well’ Matt.6:33 [CEV]
Another thing you can give this season is, give your life to Jesus. This is the best gift you can give. Many of us are so consumed with the mistakes we have made in the past, in our marriages, and in our lives that it is hindering us from moving forward. Yet if you understand and realize that Jesus has taken care of your past you will stop worrying. Jesus is offering you a fresh start; free from all the wrong you have ever done, including what you did last week, and even yesterday. For some of us the anxiety we have is for the future; what will Read the rest of this entry
Currency For Satisfaction
‘This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and from Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your Face, [O God of] Jacob’ Ps.24:6 [AMP].
The third way we can become hungry and thirsty for God is by fasting. ‘And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened’ Luke 11:9-10. When you stay in the place of seeking God, suddenly you will realize that all that truly Read the rest of this entry
Center of Gravity
‘And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brother and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ Matt.25:40
Jesus said to the people on the left ‘I was sick you did not visit me, I was hungry you did not feed me… depart from me you that work iniquity’ [read Matt.25:41-46]. In other words, Jesus was saying these people do not do righteousness. ‘Then they will reply, Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you? And he will answer, I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sister, you were refusing to help me’ Read the rest of this entry
