God’s Idea
‘I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations’ Jer.1:5.
Everything starts with an idea. You probably moved around today in a car; that car was somebody’s idea. Even if you walked, the shoes on your feet were someone’s idea. Even you reading this today, you are an idea, somebody’s idea. Sadly, for some reading this today, their parents told them that they were born mistakenly or they should have been flushed down the drain. Have you heard some parents say that very nasty thing? Guess what, you are God’s idea. They just didn’t know but God had you in mind. For some, their parents tried to abort Read the rest of this entry
Purpose of Promotion
‘When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said, “Oh, Lord, please leave me—I’m too much of a sinner to be around you.” For he was awestruck by the number of fish they had…’ Luke 5:8-9
Yesterday, we examined the Peter’s response to Jesus’ question – is it going to be about fishing for fish or fishing for men? Today we are going to examine the Luke response. Luke was a medical doctor when he met Jesus. After he met with Jesus, Luke remained a medical doctor. In other words, if he was a fisherman he remained a fisherman. But with Luke, it was not about the fish anymore. It was not about the trade anymore; it was about using that trade to help people connect to Jesus. So Read the rest of this entry
A New Outlook
‘This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – and I am the worst of them all’ 1 Tim.1:15
A lot of times, we get lost looking for God in the dramatic whereas God has come to us as a baby in a manger. God gave to us His Son Jesus. Jesus is the reason for the season. However you and I are the reason for His coming in this season in the first place. Without you and I, Jesus would not have needed to come and there will be no reason for Christmas. The significance of Christmas of course is around Jesus but it transcends just Jesus. If the meaning does not come to fruition in our lives then Christmas is wasted. So even though Read the rest of this entry
It Must Be Now
‘Thou shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea the set time, is come’ Ps.102:13 [KJV]
As believers we must know that with God there is a set time for everything. The Bible lets us understand that even before we were formed, God had a plan. ‘To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven’ Ecc.3:1 [KJV]. The children of Israel had a season of response; the set time for them had come to enter into God’s Promised Land. But they hesitated and told God they were unable to enter the land because of the giants and the season of response passed. Although they came back a Read the rest of this entry
Your Destiny
‘David continued to succeed in everything he did, for the Lord was with him. When Saul recognized this, he became even more afraid of him’ 1 Sam.18:14-15.
You need to understand that the level of attack on your destiny is an indication of the greatness of your destiny. The level of struggle you go through particularly when you are doing all that God expects you to do is a pointer to the greatness that is set before you. Some people lose their jobs for no reason, sometimes it is out of envy from another person or the fear of what they would become. But guess what you would become all that God has called you to be Read the rest of this entry
Don’t Be Afraid! Don’t Be Dismayed!
‘Look! He has placed the land in front of you. Go and occupy it as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. Don’t be afraid! Don’t be discouraged!’ Deut.1:21
What do you do when God has done what only Him can do? When He has made a provision that there is no way you could have had that kind of resource available and then He serves you the ball? Meaning the next move is yours right? What would you do? ‘Behold, the Lord thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it…’ Deut.1:21[KJV]. It seems God’s pattern is to set a land before His people and instruct them to go and possess it. In other words, the ball is in your court. Then the next thing God says, as represented in Read the rest of this entry
Who Are You Speaking To?
‘And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me… And God granted him that which he requested’ 1 Chr.4:10 [KJV].
Guess what, just like the man of God, you too can go directly to God to get curses broken. According to scripture, the man Jabez was cursed from birth by his mother. And Jabez realizing the negative effect of the curses went to the God of Israel – the God of men. Jabez cried to the God of Israel ‘Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed’. What Jabez was saying in essence was – reverse this curse Lord and Read the rest of this entry
Who Spoke Into Your Life?
Gen. 48:20 ‘So Jacob blessed the boys… “The people of Israel will use your names when they give a blessing. They will say, ‘May God make you as prosperous as Ephraim and Manasseh. In this way, Jacob put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh’
‘Gather together and hear, you sons of Jacob, and listen to Israel your father’ Gen.49:2. The question is who has spoken into your life?
You Will Excel
‘Judah, you are he whom your brothers shall praise; Your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; Your father’s children shall bow down before you’ Gen.49:8 [NKJV]
Today’s word is a declaration over our destinies so I need you to take it very personally. God’s word for you today is ‘you will excel’ [you will prosper]. It is important for you to receive this word and take it personally. Declare it over yourself, calling your name out loud ‘…I will excel’. Read Gen.49:1-4 & 8-10 [NKJV]. What plays out in this portion of scripture is the dynamics of blessings and curses. For you to go far in life you must understand the dynamics of blessings and curses. You must leverage on blessings so that you will gain Read the rest of this entry
Irony of the Cross #1
‘They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!”’ Matt.27:29.
Halal means to display foolishness with affront. And one of the ways society responds to people they consider foolish is to mock them, ridicule them, or scorn them. When culture views you as foolish one of the ways they respond is to make fun of you. The cross is a classic example of hallelujah. Jesus hanging Read the rest of this entry
