Sincere Heart I

“For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened” Matt.7:8

People look at me and think I have faith but personally I can give you several examples of doubts I have had. My faith is usually a result of my doubts. I doubted the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Before I got saved in my final year of university, I had seen all sorts of born again people. I even heard about people that teach others how to speak in tongues. So when I got saved I just did not want to Read the rest of this entry

Called Out, Stand Out!

“It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin” Heb.11:24-25

What is Moses’ example? Moses’ example is do not align with Egypt. Do not align with Egypt; the life of compromise always doesn’t count. Everyone that lives a life of compromise will end up living a worthless life. The life that will count is the life that stays true to its mission. Moses was not just raised in Egypt, he was raised in the palace. Meaning he had access to best education, the best chariot, gold, silver, and anything he could ask for. But Moses Read the rest of this entry

Faith At Its Peak

And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead—a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them” Heb.11:12

What is Abraham’s example? In Abel’s example faith puts God first, in Enoch’s example faith walks with God, in Noah’s example faith does what God says. In Abraham’s example faith waits patiently on God. And that is ironic, in fact, that is like a misnomer. Faith waits patiently on God. Faith is action so how can faith wait patiently? The irony of faith is that faith is at its peak when it is patient. Is that Scriptural? Yes and I will show you Read the rest of this entry

Just Obey

“It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before” Heb.11:7

Noah’s Example: do what God says. Imagine this, the Lord says to Noah, Noah I want you to build a boat because a flood is coming. Build a boat to save yourself, your family, and two of every kind of living creature. And Noah says to the Lord, I will do it Sir and God knows he is not lying because God sees his heart. Then Noah asks, but Lord what is a boat? And God in His mercy takes time out to explain and paint a vivid picture for Noah. And Noah says, all right Read the rest of this entry

To-Do!

“It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.” Heb.11:5

Enoch had this testimony that he pleased God. The only time you attain the relationship status with God is when your faith transcends what you can get to who He really is. Think about it, you are a lady and there is this man that just likes what you have. He does not like you, he does not know you, and how you feel is not really important to him. But he likes your breast and he likes your buttocks and you think that is a relationship? He is not interested in you, in Read the rest of this entry

The First Principle

“It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.” Heb.11:5

God is interested in the order in which you do what you do. God is interested in what you give first place to. I wake up in the morning, hit the floor, and worship God – that is faith. Putting God first is faith; you are saying there is God and acknowledging that there is a God. For instance when you move from location A to location B, what do you do first? It is called the First Principle. What you do first shows you immediately where you need to begin to work on Read the rest of this entry

By Example

“It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith” Heb.11:4

I have been in church long enough to know that this issue of faith can be so abstract. Sometimes you even get afraid that maybe you do not have faith or the required amount of faith. Does that happen to you? It is as though everyone else has faith but you. Some people have made it their duty to be the barometer of faith. They tell you, you have hope and not faith, and they have faith. My response to such people is this your faith what has it done for you? Show me Read the rest of this entry

By Faith

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” Heb.11:6

The Bible is a Book of faith and for the next few days we will be learning from the portion we can call the passage of faith because it is most dedicated to faith. Please read and study Hebrews 11:1-40. The Lord bless you with understanding as you read His Word.

Living Stress Free?

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” Jn.8:12

Have you remembered to thank God for this day and for His kindness? Now and again we can say that this period or that period in our lives has been the most stressful of our year so far. Stress that comes from meeting up with obligations, or attending parties just to show we care or are a part of “who is who” in the society. Read the rest of this entry
