Focus
“The Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program …select seven men who are …full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility” Acts 6:2-3
Concentrate your powers! Even the apostles realized that they could not serve food, take care of the widows, and visit the prisons. So they chose to focus on the ministry of the Word and to prayer. What is that one thing? Concentration simply means the power of focusing all one’s attention. When you focus, inevitably you create blindness and that is okay. But a lot of people do not want any blindness. However, the truth remains that you cannot be effective if you Read the rest of this entry
Twenty – Eighty!
David remarked longingly to his men, “Oh, how I would love some of that good water from the well by the gate in Bethlehem.” So the Three broke through the Philistine lines, drew some water… and brought it back to David…” 1 Chro.11:17-18
The Pareto Principle states that twenty percent of what you are doing is responsible for eighty percent of the results you are getting. Only twenty percent of what you are doing right now is producing eighty percent or more of the result you are getting. Regardless of how wealthy you are, it is only twenty percent of what you are doing that is generating the wealth. Even in church, it is only twenty percent of the people in attendance that make things happen. Read the rest of this entry
Clear And Simple
“Where there is no vision, the people perish” Prov.29:18 [KJV]
The principle of The Objective states thus: “Direct all efforts towards a clearly defined, decisive & attainable objective.” Three key things jump out immediately from this definition. Direct all efforts towards a Clearly Defined, Decisive and Attainable objective.
#3. Clearly Defined: Make the objective clear and simple. In Joshua 6:3-5, God was clear, “March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the Ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, every one straight in” [NIV]. Clearly defined! Strive for clarity. When I heard the Read the rest of this entry
Focus!
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” Josh.1:8 [NIV, emphasis added].
The principle of The Objective states thus: “Direct all efforts towards a clearly defined, decisive & attainable objective.” Three key things jump out immediately from this definition. Direct all efforts towards a Clearly Defined, Decisive and Attainable objective.
#2. Decisive: In the words of Major General Karl Von Clausewitz, “Pursue one great decisive aim with force and Read the rest of this entry
Easter
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
When I was a little boy, my father bought me a bicycle. The bicycle changed my life totally. It released power to me at least as far as my mobility was concerned. All my mates did not have bicycles. I remember riding my bicycle and all the children on our street will run after me and it made me feel very powerful. It was so profound to me because for the first time in my life, I had power to move faster than Read the rest of this entry
His Way
“It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him” John 9:3
Do not let a limitation in one area ground your entire life. Go! Move Forward! It is painful to see people’s lives come to a standstill just because they are trusting God for admission into the University, or for marriage, or for children. God is saying, do not allow a limitation in one area paralyze your whole life. In fact, as you begin Read the rest of this entry
Taste Berry!
“Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Rom.2:4 [NKJV]
Gratitude they say is like a taste berry. A taste berry is something that once you put it in your mouth every other thing you eat afterwards is made sweet, even the bitter things become sweet. Thanksgiving is life’s taste berry; it makes every other thing that comes afterwards sweet. Start your day with thanksgiving and let it set the tone for your day. Read the rest of this entry
Ask, Obey, And Focus!
“Yes, come,” Jesus said. So Peter went over the side of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted” Matt.14:29-30
With God I am just like a child and you probably would laugh if you hear me praying. When people offend me, I just report them to God. A lot of people are probably thinking now that that is so childish, well that is the whole point. We need to deal with God as children. Children make bold request. A child is standing on the balcony of the first floor and asking his father Read the rest of this entry
Manifest Who You Are
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” Ep.2:10
As a Pastor you have to work with different kinds of people, and believe me, human beings need Jesus. Some people are just too conflicted and it is borne out of not knowing who they are. You cannot afford to live your life taking every disagreement as rejection. At some point while Pastoring, we set a goal to start fifty new house Read the rest of this entry
As Unto God
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving” Col.3:23-24 [NIV]
The Lord said to Jesus when He was being baptized, this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased. It is only God that can see man and be well pleased, only God! Man sees you but his focus is on “your flaws” and so he is not well pleased. But God sees you, God knows you, and God still loves you. He is totally well Read the rest of this entry
