Step Back
Josh.9:14 “So the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the Lord. 15 Then Joshua made a peace treaty with them and guaranteed their safety, and the leaders of the community ratified their agreement with a binding oath”
When Joshua realized that they had been tricked by the Gibeonites, he forced them to become slaves but they did not put up any fight because it was better than death. But years later, Saul decided to get rid of the Gibeonites, then 2 Sam.21:1 says: There was a famine during David’s reign that lasted for three years, so David asked the Lord about it. And the Lord said, “The famine has come because Saul and his family are guilty of murdering the Gibeonites.” [emphasis added]. Every time you are experiencing a famine, Read the rest of this entry
Jokes Aside
Judg.13:4 Now see to it that you drink no wine or other fermented drink and that you do not eat anything unclean. 5 You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb…”
Many times when God establishes a covenant with us, we try to rationalize. Like Abraham said to God, “Will you make me a father of many nations at age ninety-nine? Let Ishmael live before you oh God!” [paraphrased]. In other words, Abraham was telling God the faulty foundation [Ishmael] that he had “helped” God build since God was late with delivery. He was showing God an example of how to produce a child. But God said, “I will bless Ishmael but in Isaac shall your seed be”. Isaac was not even born yet and Abraham was Read the rest of this entry
Good News!
Jer.1:10 “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant” [KJV]
The awesome news is this- life’s foundation can be corrected. The fact that you have a faulty foundation is not the end of your life. If you will cooperate with God, your life’s foundation can be corrected. Take the case of Gideon; I encourage you to read Judges 6. The first message to us in Judges 6 is, your current foundation is not an indication of what God has for you and your destiny. The angel said to Gideon, “oh mighty man of war” and he said, “Who are you talking to?”
Diagnosis
Jude 1: 9 “But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.)”
What you will be able to shoulder [spiritually, financially, and maritally] depends on how solid your foundation is. What you will be able to shoulder even maritally depends on the foundation that exists. A lot of marriages today are crumbling because their foundation is weak. Some people cannot even hold the great jobs they get because of foundational issues. For some, everything runs smoothly as long as their financial breakthrough is within the range of hundreds of thousands but as soon they hit the tens of millions, they almost Read the rest of this entry
