Domestic Affairs III
“Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” Col.3:19
“Husbands, love your wives [be affectionate and sympathetic with them] and do not be harsh or bitter or resentful toward them” Col.3:19 [AMP, emphasis added]. That word affectionate there means to be romantic. Men, God is saying be romantic, it is in the Bible. Chivalry should not die, be romantic. Some gentleman came to me and said he had been Read the rest of this entry
Domestic Affairs I
“Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and never treat them harshly” Col.3:18-19 [emphasis added]
God is interested in domestic issues. He is interested in how we run our households. Paul kicks off by addressing wives, please take note he is not addressing women but wives specifically. “Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting for those who belong to the Lord”. What does submission mean? Submission means to submit. There will be no issue of Read the rest of this entry
How To… V
“So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it” Col.3:12,14 [MSG]
What to “put to on”: “Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with [put on] tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience… Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony” Col.3:12,14 [emphasis added]. Put on tenderhearted mercy; to be Read the rest of this entry
How To… III
“So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world” Col.3:5
What to “put to death”: “…Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world” Col.3:5 [emphasis added]. Set Yourself Free
“In this new life, it doesn’t matter if you are a Jew or a Gentile, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbaric, uncivilized, slave, or free. Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us” Col.3:11
What will be the authority in your life? Is it going to be the Word of God or the traditions of men? There was this particular wedding, real life story, the groom I think was Yoruba and the bride was Igbo. And the parents of both the bride and the groom will not have it. So this couple had to go through hell to get the two families to attend the wedding ceremony. Their Read the rest of this entry
The Secret
“He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together” Col.1:17
“If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” 2Cor5:17. Believe it! Sadly, some people hear this Word being preached but they chose to receive its power to change them only a little at a time. You hear such people say, give me sometime God is not done working on me, the grace is sufficient. But I say to you Read the rest of this entry
Be Still And Know
“Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world” Ps.46:10
Jesus needed to pray to live stress free and you are not greater than Him. You need to pray no matter how busy you are. No matter how busy Jesus got, He made it a practice to spend time alone with God. You need to spend time alone with God. Some of us do not even know how to spend time alone with God. Some of us make Read the rest of this entry
Manifest Who You Are
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” Ep.2:10
As a Pastor you have to work with different kinds of people, and believe me, human beings need Jesus. Some people are just too conflicted and it is borne out of not knowing who they are. You cannot afford to live your life taking every disagreement as rejection. At some point while Pastoring, we set a goal to start fifty new house Read the rest of this entry
Who Matters?
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honour God with your body” 1 Cor.6:19-20
You know who you are when you know whose you are. You do not belong to yourself, you are a child of God bought with the price the price of the Blood of Jesus. You are valuable to God. For a lot of us our lives will change completely if we wake up pronouncing and knowing, I am a child of God. I am deeply loved by God. I Read the rest of this entry
Who Are You?
“I AM the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser” John 15:1 [AMP]
I try to be like Jesus, we all should be like Jesus. I have been asked a lot of the time, how come you are not stressed? How do you even find the time to read a book? I say to people that I read four books at the same time why because if I read one book I get bored. My brain needs to be working in different directions. Not one but Read the rest of this entry
