Troubles

“Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke Him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Mark.4:38-39.

A lot of us are looking at our life’s calendar and saying, by now I should have done xyz and abc. You have to understand that Jesus is reliable. What He said He will do, He will do. If He needs to raise the dead, the dead will rise. Jesus does not love you less if He does not show up based on your timing. Jesus did not love Lazarus any Read the rest of this entry

Prisoner Of Time?

“Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died… When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.” John 11:21 & 32.

When our timing does not sync with God’s timing we begin to doubt His reliability. Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus, “the one You love is sick”. But Jesus did not respond based on their timing. Instead He stayed behind even though He loved Lazarus, Jesus did not operate with the timing of Mary and Martha. Jesus eventually Read the rest of this entry

Beyond Our Request

“I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a servant.”’ Luke 15:18-19

Jesus is full of grace and truth; Jesus Himself unpacks this with the story of the prodigal son [Luke 15]. With good works, you understand that nothing you do in your strength can bring you in. So you are not working to pay back but out of love and duty to the Father. With dead works, you think that you can actually work your Read the rest of this entry

What Works?

“Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work” John 4:34

If you look at the life of the older son and the life of the younger son in Luke 15, one thing is consistent – work! The older son was working in his father’s vineyard, the younger son was applying for work. But one’s works is good works and the others’ works is dead works. It’s possible to be serving God with dead works but it’s also Read the rest of this entry

Don’t Be Deceived II

“So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding” Col.1:9

It is dangerous to depend on visions or revelations to confirm who you are in Christ Jesus. Someone can speak to you about a dream or a vision but it should align with what God is telling you, or what you know God will have you do in accordance with His Word. It shouldn’t mystify or intimidate you. It shouldn’t make you want to add anything to Jesus. Read the rest of this entry

Don’t Be Deceived I

“For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body” Col.2:9

The lack of sufficiency in Christ can be made up of four things: Rationalism, Legalism, Mysticism, or asceticism. Rationalism simply means human wisdom – explain it. Like the blind man, you can’t explain the blessings of God; it comes because the Bible says that For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. You can’t explain God, you can’t explain Read the rest of this entry

Jesus Alone!

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing’ John 15:5

A lot of us are under extreme pressure from people who are debating our faith and our trust in God. And sometimes, it is because of the circumstances we are in. Perhaps you are a single lady/man trusting God for a life partner and people are suggesting to you what you should do and how you should go about getting a life partner. Some of us are being deceived into Read the rest of this entry

He Questions

“Herod was delighted at the opportunity to see Jesus… and had been hoping for a long time to see him perform a miracle. He asked Jesus question after question, but Jesus refused to answer” Luke 23:8-9.

For some of us, the questions are not coming from us but rather the questions are directed at us. People are asking us very daft questions. Is it because you didn’t pray enough that you didn’t get the job? – daft question. Was it because you didn’t fast enough that you didn’t get the promotion? – daft question. Is it because your parents have done some terrible things Read the rest of this entry

For Your Good

‘And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them’ Rom.8:28

But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way’ Matt.13:25. The second source of the storms is the enemy. Sometimes it is not about you or what you have done, the storm you are going through is as a result of what the enemy has done. The man in today’s Scripture reference sowed good seed in his land but the enemy came and sowed tares. For some people the storms they are facing are spiritual storms. Some people are under intense attack. The good news for you today is Jesus will deal with every storm that is raging against you. If you were to Read the rest of this entry

God First!

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need’ Matt.6:33

This is God’s Word for you today. ‘…Don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need’ Matt.6:31-33. The key to having everything you need is making God priority. God is saying don’t become consumed with Read the rest of this entry
