Focused Desire

‘As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?’ Ps.42:1-2 [NKJV].

Pursue intimacy with God regardless of where you are. Pursue intimacy with God. God said concerning David, “I have found a man after My heart”. What will God say about you? God said to Samuel, “I have found a man that is passionately in love with Me”. Sadly, a lot of people just want to use God because we have heard that the people that are God’s friends, they do things and they get away with it. They say to God ‘I am your friend’ so that I can do things Read the rest of this entry

Intimacy With God

‘O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land where there is no water.’ Ps.63:1

Jesse was well to do; in fact he was a Sanhedrin [the highest political magistracy of the country]. Jesse was not a farmer. So the sheep and goats that David was sent out to care for were not his primary source of income. David was sent out to the wilderness to die [just like he sent Uriah to die in battle]. Perhaps not literally like that but they just wanted David out of the house. Yet David triumphed. You will triumph in the name of Jesus. David did not allow the Read the rest of this entry

My Shepherd

‘Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.” “Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives’ 1Sam.16:11.

How well can you handle rejection? How well you can handle the rejection of men determines how far you will go. Let me explain. Where was David’s mother while all this drama was going on? If the number one prophet requests that all your sons be brought before him and the father forgets, will the mother also forget? Where was David’s mother? One school of thought says David’s mother was an African woman that Jesse had an affair and that was Read the rest of this entry

In View

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee’ Luke 1:26

When you read 1 Samuel 16: 1-13, another thing that stands out is God selected David. God skipped Eliab, skipped Abinadab, skipped Shimea, skipped four others and selected David. For God to do that, God said concerning Eliab ‘I have already rejected him’. I am praying today that that will not be your testimony from God. What made David acceptable and made Eliab detestable? What is that thing that makes us irresistible to God? I am praying that God will reveal it to us, in Jesus name. God selected David. Read the rest of this entry

God’s Mind!

Now the Lord said to Samuel, “You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”1 Sam.16:1.

God can change His mind. Even though this is coming as a shock to some of us. However, it is one truth we need to know and pray never happens in our case. With Samson, it was an angel that told his parents this boy is going to be a Nazarene to the day of his death. God never said this Samson was going to grind corn for the philistines. Samson kept pushing the boundary; he kept sleeping with the prostitutes and nothing happened. He kept behaving like a spoilt brat. Over and over until they cut off his locks, Read the rest of this entry

Adjust Your Focus

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done…’ Luke17:15-16

Yesterday, I was telling you about the accident the Holy Spirit’s prompting saved me from. Now that happened to be the very first car that I would have, that I bought with my money. So I was kind of grateful to the Holy Spirit but each time I see the dent the trailer left on my car, I will be sorrowful. And I will say, “God, I pay my tithe”. Then it occurred to me, I could have lost my life. The whole car could have been totally written off and here I am complaining about a dent. That was the story of the lepers, they Read the rest of this entry

Priority

‘Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me’ 2 Cor.12:8-9.

The victory God wants to win in you is more important than the victory you want God to win for you. It’s not just about the breakthroughs; God wants to do a work in you and I that is more important than any breakthrough you and I can get. Some people want to be healed but they don’t want to be disinfected because they love the bacteria. It does not work that way. Come and be washed in the blood. There is something that God wants to do in you that is more important than what God wants to do for Read the rest of this entry

Make Haste

‘We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work’ John 9:4

“How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace. But now it is too late, and peace is hidden from your eyes. Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side.Luke19:42-43. I am praying today that you will know the time that God has come to save you. For some people they think they can get born again whenever they want to get born again. The Bible says don’t harden your heart when God calls you Read the rest of this entry

Action Time

“We realize that we have sinned, but now we are ready to enter the land the Lord has promised us.” But Moses said, …It won’t work. Do not go up into the land now. You will only be crushed by your enemies because the Lord is not with you’ Num.14:40-42

The second thing you need to understand when it comes to moving forward is called the Window of Response. Please read Numbers 14. The truth is while you will always have time as long as you are alive, you will never always have an opportune time. Imagine you are at the T-junction waiting for the light to change and there is a long line of cars behind you. Your windows are up, music playing, and your head is down and you are texting. Once the light changes to green, what happens to all the cars Read the rest of this entry

Know Your Father

After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice’ John 10:4.

“I tell you the truth, anyone who sneaks over the wall of a sheepfold, rather than going through the gate, must surely be a thief and a robber! But the one who enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice. They won’t follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don’t know his voice” John10:1-5. You need to know your Father. Note that even though the shepherd Read the rest of this entry
