Make God Happy

‘So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image’ 2 Cor.3:18.

While praying, I often say thank you to the Lord for choosing me because I realize that in truth I could never have chosen Him. You too must understand that Jesus found you first and it was He who refused to let go. You can love Him because He first loved you. It is with this same confidence that we also as Matthew did arrange for the people in our lives to meet with Jesus knowing that He already has His eyes on them. Found people find people! Mathew arranged a dinner party. Think about it, it was a usual thing for his friends to Read the rest of this entry

Expected Response

‘…Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its masterGen.4:7

How did God expect Cain to respond? Simple God said ‘why are you so angry? The Lord asked Cain. Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its masterGen.4:6-7. God told Cain what was about to happen. Isn’t God amazing? God said to Cain this is about to happen to you. Subdue this thing, confront it, and deal with it. So God rejecting Cain’s offering and rejecting Read the rest of this entry

Count The Cost?

‘We must not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because Cain had been doing what was evil, and his brother had been doing what was righteous’ 1 John.3:12.

It was not just about the offering, it was about the behavioral pattern of Cain. God must be honored. You cannot dishonor God in your day-to-day life and expect that you will play to the gallery and God will be impressed. God will not be impressed because your daily decisions may be personal but they are never private. In fact, they will eventually become public one day. You may think that it is personal but guess what, it is not really private. Look at the fig tree; it was boisterous with leaves, putting up a show. Jesus moved closer Read the rest of this entry

Acceptable Offering

Abel also brought a gift-the best of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his giftGen.4:4.

David said, I will not offer to God something that will not cost me anything’. So we see from scripture that you cannot separate the man and his offering because the man is his offering and the offering is the man. An offering accepted is the man accepted and an offering rejected is the man rejected. I am praying that God will not reject your offering in the Name of Jesus. The Bible says that God rejected Cain and his offering but He accepted Abel and his offering. You need to make sure that your life is first acceptable to God. And how do Read the rest of this entry

The First And Best

‘Afterward the Lord asked Cain, where is your brother? Where is Abel? I don’t know, Cain responded. Am I my brother’s guardian? Gen.4:9

Sometimes when God asks you a question it does not mean He does not know the answer. Some situations we find ourselves in are questions and we must respond the way that God expects. Read Genesis 4:1-10. The first thing that will jump out at you from this passage of scripture is that it is not enough to bring an offering to God. It is not enough to give God an offering anyway you like. When you are bringing God an offering, never forget that God reserves the right to accept or reject that offering. Remember always to whom you Read the rest of this entry

Take A Stand

‘But Peter said, I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk! Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up…’ Acts 3:6-7

Never be afraid to draw the line with your God. God honors the word of his servants. He will honor you. In your office, say to them if God is alive this is what is going to happen and watch God honor His Name. While on a project in the northern part of Nigeria, two men approached me. The older was crippled and was being carried by the younger man and they were begging for alms. So I said to them that I know  they are Muslims and I respect that but I know someone, His Name is Jesus, if Jesus does not heal him, referring to the Read the rest of this entry

King of kings

‘You are blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family’ Matt.5:9 [MSG]

Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God. There are a lot of wars and killings going on in our world today because of ‘religion’. People are snuffing other peoples’ lives in defense of their god. People are doing all sorts of strange things in the Name of God. Listen to me, if your god cannot fight for himself something is wrong with that god. The church learnt a long time ago that God is greater than any insult from any movie. Do you know how many people have abused Jesus? Does that stop Him from being Read the rest of this entry

Legitimate Child

‘Finally, Abraham said, Lord , please don’t be angry with me if I speak one more time. Suppose only ten are found there? And the Lord replied, then I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten’ Gen.18:32.

When Abraham was negotiating with God, he went from fifty, to forty, to thirty, to twenty, and finally to ten people. But in marriage, will you go for one person? So if you have a marriage or a relationship that is not going anywhere because there is constant strife both of them are not peacemakers. When God cannot find one person that is willing to pursue peace in that marriage, the marriage is in trouble. Are you the peacemaker? Now decree Read the rest of this entry

Center of Gravity

And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brother and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ Matt.25:40

Jesus said to the people on the left ‘I was sick you did not visit me, I was hungry you did not feed me… depart from me you that work iniquity’ [read Matt.25:41-46]. In other words, Jesus was saying these people do not do righteousness. ‘Then they will reply, Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you? And he will answer, I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sister, you were refusing to help meRead the rest of this entry

Let God Lead You

‘Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.’ Jer.17:5

The fifth thing that causes us grief, which is also unnecessary, is when we trust in man rather than in God. ‘Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabitedJer.17:5-6. In other words, the person will be looking in one direction-unto man and good will be coming Read the rest of this entry
