Salvation vs. Success
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Josh.1:8 [emphasis added].
Salvation has nothing to do with new behavior but everything to do with new creation. Success on the other hand has everything to do with new behavior. Salvation has nothing to do with new behavior. One cannot say; if I read my Bible more then I will be saved. Wrong! Or if I meditate more then I will be saved. Wrong again! There is nothing like a ten things to do list to get saved. There is nothing you Read the rest of this entry
Levels Of Obedience III
“When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you” John 2:3-5 [NIV]
You cannot get beyond your level of obedience. Please read John 2:1-5. It is the story of Jesus in the marriage at Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother said to Jesus, they don’t have wine and Jesus says, it is not my business. But His mother goes and says to the servants, whatever he tells you to do, do it! Do what? Do whatever He tells you to do and she probably walked away. Then Jesus said to the servants, Read the rest of this entry
Levels Of Obedience II
“So they called the apostles back in and commanded them never again to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him?” Acts 4:18-19.
The first level of obedience is to the Word of God. The second level of obedience is to the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God can never lead you contrary to the Word of God. If you feel a leading to do anything contrary to the Word of God, dismiss it. The third level of obedience is to authority. God expects us to obey constituted authority. However, where authority is asking us to contravene God, Read the rest of this entry
Levels Of Obedience I
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do” Josh.1:8 [emphasis added].
You have read in the Bible that we should study it, meditate on it, and just do it. Peter asked Jesus how many times does one forgive his brother in a single day and Jesus said seventy times seven in a single day. You have read it, meditated on it, just do it. Someone has offended you, the next thing you do is forgive. But rather you are saying no one understands, you need time… What do you need time Read the rest of this entry
About Altars
“A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out” Lev.6:13.
Many times when God wants to change someone’s life, it starts like an ordinary day. You may have woken up thinking today is an ordinary day. But I have news for you; today your life is going to be totally changed for good in the Mighty Name of Jesus. I am really excited about this season because there are monumental things that are shifting and have shifted forever in our lives. We have been Read the rest of this entry
Causes Of Disagreement II
“Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” Amos 3:3
My wife and I do not agree on many things and I do not have a problem with that. One thing we don’t agree on for instance is the number of times we should bathe in a day. She feels we should bathe three times a day. I say why? Is once not enough? Twice maybe but not three times! It is a minor issue; it does not matter. Read the rest of this entry
Until You Move
“It was the harvest season, and the Jordan was overflowing its banks. But as soon as the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water at the river’s edge” Josh.3:15.
“But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.” Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!” Ex.14:13-15. A lot of the time, like Moses we are telling ourselves wait and see what God will do. But Read the rest of this entry
Relational Impact
‘Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!”’ John 4:39.
Your vertical relationship with The One influences your horizontal relationships with people. This means your horizontal relationship with people is a reflection of your vertical relationship with The One. If you see someone that is grumpy, easily angered, and always picking a fight, guess what? -that person’s issue is not with you but rather it is with The One. Just tell him or her to go and see The One. When people are spitting Read the rest of this entry
With You Always
‘As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.” So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind… Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion…’ Mark4:35-38.
Many of us today are in the same position the disciples found themselves in today’s scripture reference. We know we are walking with Jesus, we are His sheep and we hear His voice. We have obediently followed His instructions to cross over to the other side but here we are in the eye of the storm as it were. The first thing you need to know is that even when God is for you, you will still experience storms. And like the disciples, we sometimes are perplexed that if Jesus is in this boat Read the rest of this entry
Just Do It!
‘His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it” John 2:5 [NKJV]
In John 2 there is an amazing story where Jesus and His mother were at a wedding in Cana of Galilee. If you have been in church for a while, you would know this story. The celebrants ran out of wine and something very interesting happened. The mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no more wine, fix it” [translated]. Jesus said, “woman what is my business with that” [translated]. Then Jesus’ mother Read the rest of this entry
