Honest Earning

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we appeal to people–no, we command them: Settle down and get to work. Earn your own living.” 2 Thes. 3:12.

From Solomon we can learn five habits for financial freedom. The key thing about these five habits is that you have to do them all. If you do one or even four of the habits, you still will not attain financial freedom. You have to do the five to be financially free. We call them habits because a habit is something that you do easily, something that is second nature to you. Some of us have begun to do some of these things but not all of them. Some of us do not even do any of them at all, which means you need to work at it in the initial stages, then over time, it will become a habit.

What I am about to teach you is how God’s Favourite House runs financially and in six years, God has done huge things with us financially. Yes, there is a place for favour but God is not prodigal. Two people can get the same pay at the end of the month but one has nothing to show for it. So it is not about the amount you make as you are going to learn. I hope you are hungry to learn these five habits and to grow.

The first habit for financial freedom is Earn An Honest Living. It is called the Principle of Work. The reason the finance of a lot people is cursed is because they have earned a dishonest living. And such finances quickly disappear because it does not attract God’s blessings. It is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and adds no sorrow. So if you engage in fraud to get money quick, you will  discover that the money will  not last. I am not cursing you because I believe that if you have walked along those paths, it does not define you. And beginning from today, you will change, in Jesus Name. You can earn an honest living. It is called the principle of work.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we appeal to people–no, we command them: Settle down and get to work. Earn your own living”. There is a poem we learnt growing up that changed my life. If I had my way, every teenager will memorize it too. The poem translated means work is the antidote to poverty. If you want the poem in Yoruba and the English translation sent to you, please contact the church office by sending us your email address. Even the English version will change your life.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask for the grace to settle down, to work, and earn a living worthy of God’s blessings that make rich and add no sorrow, in Jesus Name.

The Path II

You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.Ps.66:12 [NIV, emphasis added].

Many people are jeopardizing their hard place by taking shortcuts. The shortcuts are the reason why they do not arrive in the wealthy place. The reason why it appears as if there is no wealthy place is because people insist on taking shortcuts. There is no shortcut! You need to go through the grind. Be prepared because when you are going through the grind, it will be very uncomfortable and sometimes humiliating. If I were to show Read the rest of this entry

The Path I

“Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy placePs.66:12 [KJV, emphasis added]

Take note of the path to the wealthy place in today’s scriptural reference. The path to abundance can be tough. And because of that a lot of people have taken a detour off the path. If you are on that tough path and you are contemplating taking a detour, my sincere advice is, don’t. And it is because you are about to enter into your wealthy place. Stay on course. Be Observant

“Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you have such evil thoughts in your hearts?” Matt.9:4

And many times when you let yourself into what God is thinking about your life and about your business, inevitably people can think something is wrong with you. I was listening to a podcast sometime ago and the host was saying that “If everyone thinks you’re strange, take heart. It may just mean you’re years ahead of your time” –Spartan Podcast. And there are many people reading this, people think you are strange but do not worry.

Re-Position

“Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” Eze.37:3

To unleash the Power of the Holy Spirit, to unleash the Spirit of God in our favour, there are two things that you and I must do.

#1. Align With God.  To unleash the Power of the Holy Spirit in your favor, you need to align with God. You have your own ideas; agreed. Some people even have their own idea of how God should be God. They look at how the whole world is and say, God, if I were God I can do a better job. Arrogance! You think you are better than God? Align with God, that is the first thing you need to do. And I will show you in Scripture.

Your Capacity

“He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request” 1 Chro.4:10

Yesterday, we established that the problem is not the adversity because “…God is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape…” 1cor.10:13 [NKJV]. What am I saying? I am saying that the problem is not the adversity; the problem is your capacity.

When I was in secondary school, I was very playful. When we were given assignments, I always had the mind to do Read the rest of this entry

To Exploit

I must work the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work” Jn.9:4

You do not need anyone to convince you that life is a battle. You are the general so you are calling the shots; but you have to be equipped. We believe that God will give us victory this year, in Jesus Name. However, we need to deploy proven military strategies to guarantee and secure these victories. If war generals that did not know Read the rest of this entry

Personal Development

“The Lord who rescued me from the claws of the lion and the bear will rescue me from this Philistine!” Saul finally consented. “All right, go ahead,” he said. “And may the Lord be with you!” 1 Sam.17:37

Courage can be developed. But how do you develop courage? Simple.  You develop courage by acting courageous. You may be afraid but you shake it off and act as if you are courageous. That is how you develop courage. I am telling you for a fact – everyone that appears courageous knows fear. The more you act courageous, the more courageous you become. Ralph Waldo Emerson says, “Make a habit throughout your life of doing the things you fear; if you do the things you fear, the death of fear is certain”. You are a young man who is afraid to talk to women. Just do it Read the rest of this entry

Take Note I

“They did not conquer the land with their swords; it was not their own strong arm that gave them victory. It was your right hand and strong arm and the blinding light from your face that helped them, for you loved them” Ps.44:3

I am really excited to be alive today and I hope you are too because it is only the living that can praise God [at least on earth]. Usually as seasons change and we approach a new season, even before I became a Pastor, as a Christian I would sit with God and try to discern His mind for the coming season. I believe every believer should do this actually, even on a daily basis. Which is why we have devotions, a time where you can sit quietly with God to get His Read the rest of this entry

Yoked II

“And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified GodLu.13:13 [emphasis added]

When we were being trained to pastor, one of the things we were taught is, as you climb spiritually, make sure you carry your spouse along. I say spouse because sometimes it is the women that climb faster. In any case, just ensure that you carry your spouse along. Why? The reason is if you crash, you are crashing to the level of the slower climber. Imagine you have climbed to the tenth floor and your spouse is still on the second floor. When there is a crash, you will both end up on Read the rest of this entry
