Holy Matrimony IV
‘Abstaining from sex is permissible for a period of time if you both agree to it, and if it’s for the purposed of prayer and fasting –but only for such times. Then come back together again. Satan has an ingenious way of tempting us when we least expect it’ 1Cor.7:5 [MSG].
I am trusting that God will lift every burden in our homes even as He takes us to answers in His Word to nagging questions in our lives and Jesus will be glorified. Some people are amazed about how weighty the topic of intimacy is in marriage. The truth is that it is a very important topic and the Bible dedicates 1 Corinthians 7 to answering a lot of questions that might arise in this area. For instance, there are some husbands/wives that do not feel that it is right to be intimate with their spouse while fasting. And some other Read the rest of this entry
Draw Near!
‘Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened’ Matt.7:7-8.
Many Christians are consumed with the feeling that they are far from God and they cannot hear Him speak or feel His tangible presence. You want my advice; follow the path that God has carefully laid out in His Word. ‘Draw near unto God and He will draw near to you!’ What are you waiting for? You need to make the first move. The truth is that God has reconciled you and I to Himself so that we can have a relationship with Him. A relationship is between two people and it involves both parties speaking and getting to Read the rest of this entry
King, Priest, and Prophet
‘And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen’ Rev.1:6 [KJV].
‘The letter to the king of Israel said: “With this letter I present my servant Naaman. I want you to heal him of his leprosy.” When the king of Israel read the letter, he tore his clothes in dismay and said, “This man sends me a leper to heal! Am I God, that I can give life and take it away? I can see that he’s just trying to pick a fight with me’ 2 Kings 5:6-7. The king of Aram placed a demand on the king of Israel for what only a prophet can deliver. The king of Israel immediately Read the rest of this entry
Be Aware V
‘But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia’ Dan.10:13
You need to know what satan and his demons try to do. Firstly, demons influence the leaders of nations because they know that if they can negatively influence the leadership of a nation, they will affect many more people. ‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places’ Eph.6:12 [KJV]. This is why as the church we have to influence leaders of nations because influencing the leaders Read the rest of this entry
Know This II
‘Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm’ Eph.6:13
The next thing you need to know that will help you is that your prayers are more powerful than you ever know. The truth is that if we Christians know how powerful our prayers are then we will pray every time and like Jesus says without ceasing. Yet the reality is that we are completely unaware. We pray but we nurse doubts and uncertainty in our hearts about the answers to the prayers. God says ‘Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward’ Heb.10:35 [KJV]. God invites us to come Read the rest of this entry
Battlefield
‘Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ’ 2 Cor.10:5 [KJV].
Over the past few days we have mentioned two major battlefields – the spirit realm and the mind. For many believers these days when you talk about a spiritual battlefield the only place their thoughts go is the mind. Of course the battlefield of the mind exists and it is legitimate and real [2 Cor.10:3-5]. There are battles that go on in our minds that we have to deal with. Some people are struggling with all sorts of negative thoughts. That will come to an end in your own case in Jesus Name. The enemy tries to form Read the rest of this entry
Weapons of Warfare
‘For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)’ 2 Cor.10:4 [KJV]
Unlike the physical weapons of warfare, the weapons of spiritual warfare are entirely different. As a believer you need to know them and know how to deploy them in the place of battle. The weapons of our warfare include but are not limited to the name of Jesus, the Blood of Jesus, the Word of God, praise and worship. The Bible says ‘let the high praise of God be in their mouth, and a two edge sword in their hands’ Ps.149:6 [KJV]. Our weapons are mighty through God and not apart from Him. So what you see is not Read the rest of this entry
Free To Succeed
‘So if the Son liberates you [makes you free men], then you are really and unquestionably free’ John 8:36 [AMP]
Nobody needs to die for you to live. The only person that needs to die for you to live died two thousand years ago, His name is Jesus. The substitutionary price that you need for your success has already been paid. As a child of God you do not need another person’s blood to secure healing, you do not need to lock down another persons provision for yours to flow. The only person’s blood that needs to be shed has been shed two thousand years ago. As a child of God you are free to succeed. You have the liberty to prosper. A Read the rest of this entry
Warfare
‘No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord’ Isa.54:17 [KJV].
Spiritual warfare is real. A lot of people think that if they don’t trouble people or the devil, then people or the devil will not trouble them. The reality is that it is not actually the case. ‘No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn’. For the Bible to say this, it means that there are weapons formed against you and tongues raised against you in judgment. For the fact that you are even alive, someone is angry at least I know the devil is Read the rest of this entry
The Priest
‘The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth’ Isa.38:19 [KJV]
The father is the priest. Priests are custodians of God’s Word and law. The father should be the custodian of the Word and should teach it to the children. ‘The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth’ Isa.38:19 [KJV]. The father is the priest and runs the priesthood. Of course the mother too can teach the Word of God. Yet the fathers are the custodians of the priesthood. Priests, apart from being custodians of the Word of God, are responsible for sacrifices and all the Read the rest of this entry
