The Power I

Christians are so powerful, not in ourselves but in the Spirit that lives in us. “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his deathPhil.3:10. Risen!

“The women were terrified and bowed with their faces to the ground. Then the men asked, “Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?” Luke 24:5

“Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?” This is such an amazing statement. These women meant well; they did not mean to insult Jesus. I have news for you today. Mark today’s date in your diary. There are well meaning people that will come and look for you in the grave but they will discover that the tomb is empty. They will discover that God has resurrected you from the place they kept you. The Resurrection!

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you” Rom.8:11 [emphasis added]

 

Easter is another name for The Resurrection. I would not argue about the origin of Easter; I will leave that to the critics. Instead, I will focus on Jesus.
