Sacrifice I

Acts 16:25-26 “Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and… Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”

While the prison doors are removed from the body and have no contact with the body of the prisoners. The chains have direct contact with the hands and the legs (the body) of the prisoners. Read the rest of this entry

Reciprocate

1 Kings 3:4-5 “…Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

The God of creation creates from nothing. God creates from little. No god can stand against Him. The fourth thing you need to know about the God of creation is that He Responds To Sacrifice. In the Book of Genesis, the story Read the rest of this entry

Fuel & Sacrifice

1 Kings 18:33-35 “…Then he said, “Fill four large jars with water, and pour the water over the offering and the wood.” .…“Do the same thing again!” “…Now do it a third time!” So they did as he said, and the water ran around the altar and even filled the trench.” (emphasis added).

God never determines what He will do by the scarcity of resources. God determines what He will do and He does it in spite of the scarcity. When Elijah kept requesting for more and more water, I can imagine what Ahab Read the rest of this entry

Not Without III

Ps.46:10Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

There is no true worship without surrender and the major thing that keeps us from surrendering is worry. Can God really take care of me if I surrender to Him? If I surrender my life to God, can He really put food on the table? Read the rest of this entry

Not Without,II

John 4:23 (KJV) “…true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

Yesterday we listed three categories of people that God is looking for. These three categories of people are; loyal people, intercessors, and worshippers. These three categories of people Read the rest of this entry

Not Without, I

1 Chr.21:24 (NIV) “But King David replied to Araunah, “No, I insist on paying the full price. I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or sacrifice a burnt offering that costs me nothing.”

For there to be true worship, there must be Sacrifice. There can be no true worship without sacrifice. John 4:16Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her.” For that woman, Read the rest of this entry

Sacrifice Advantage

Isa. 1:18-19 (NIV) “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land;

Fasting is extremely valuable and important. However, note that fasting does not make God a vending machine. Read the rest of this entry

Unquestionable

Rev.19:10 (Voice) “…Stop it. Don’t you see? I am a servant like you and your brothers and sisters, all who hold fast to the testimony of Jesus. Address your worship to God, not to me! For the testimony about Jesus is essentially the prophetic spirit.”

It was prophesied that the Messiah would be forsaken by God. The prophecy is in Ps.22:1My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help?” [with emphasis]. Read the rest of this entry

Jesus

Col.2:14 “He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.”

In Christ Jesus, there is no shortage of life, no rationing of life, and there are no exchanges necessary. Jesus does not need to destroy one life to make another life better. Read the rest of this entry

My Help

1Kings 17:3 “Go to the east and hide by Kerith Brook…. 4 Drink from the brook and eat what the ravens bring you, for I have commanded them….” 5 So Elijah did as the Lord told him… 6 The ravens brought him bread and meat each morning and evening, and he drank from the brook.

It is important that we follow this story and see the clear picture that David is painting for us. Our God is just so amazing. David says in Ps.23:5 “You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies…” [with emphasis]. Read the rest of this entry
