Dangerous Logic
“The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!” But Elisha replied, “You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it!” 2 Kings 7:2
The third thing that makes us doubt the reliability of Jesus is our logic. Please read John 20:24-30. This is the story of Thomas. Thomas was not present when the resurrected Christ showed Himself to His disciples. When he returned, Jesus had left. “They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side” John 20:25. Rich Works
They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. By doing this they will be storing up their treasure as a good foundation for the future so that they may experience true life’ 1 Tim 6:18-19.
The good news and bad news is that you are rich. Good news because God wants you to be rich for your enjoyment and all that He wants you to do. Bad news because being rich is one of the greatest challenges you will face spiritually. The greatest contender for your heart with God is money – the acquisition, retention, and multiplication of money. Money challenges our priorities because it gives us options. Wealth is deceitful, it promises what only God can deliver. We all have come to a point in our lives where we believe Read the rest of this entry
Heavens Appraisal
“And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? Luke 16:11
If at the end of this month, God gives you your annual income along with your regular monthly take home pay, what will you do with it? Calculate it and think!
You need to embrace the truth of the Word of God as is. God says Jesus became poor so that you through His poverty can become rich. To become rich in God, you have to come through the poverty of Jesus. What Read the rest of this entry
A Shift
‘The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise’ Ps.51:17 [NKJV].
Over the next few days we are going to be learning True Repentance from the heart of David. David demonstrated true repentance in Psalm 51. Interestingly this is one of the Psalms that my grandmother made us memorize by repetition. My grandmother is illiterate so we had to memorize it in our dialect. I would encourage you to memorize Psalm 51 in your dialect; it is very powerful. There were points when Read the rest of this entry
Posture Of Obedience
‘Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’” 1Sam.3:8-9 [NKJV].
The third thing in enquiring from the Lord is a posture of obedience. When you are asking God a question you must have a posture of obedience. In other words, you must make up your mind to obey whatever He says. In 1 Samuel 3 [please read], God was calling Samuel but he did not know the voice of God so he ran to Eli instead. True Repentance III
‘Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” John 8:12
‘Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?” “No, Lord,” she said. And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more” John 8:10-11. That means the power to sin no more is resident in anyone that follows Jesus because the Word of God says anyone that follows Jesus does not live in darkness. ‘Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” John 8:12. That is the key! Jesus didn’t say, “these things will go gradually. You were sleeping with twenty men in the past but now they are just five. You are trying”. Jesus didn’t say, “you previously had five sex partners but now you have one that you are maintaining. You are trying, you have come a long way”. The reason a lot of people remain in the captivity of sexual sin is because they excuse themselves. God is saying to you today, “Go and sin no more”. But I have good news for you. If you continue God will expose you, embarrass you, and He will make you a public spectacle. He will do that just so you can find true repentance. I can give you several examples, when God exposed their sin then they fell on their faces. But as long as they keep doing it, they will say a short prayer that usually reads something like this ‘God forgive me, I cover myself with the Blood of Jesus. You say that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us’. They say this prayer before going to church because they know that church is dangerous and something can happen to them but they don’t want to change. They step out of church and continue in sin. Who are you deceiving? You will find repentance today, in Jesus name. After God had dealt with David, he said to God ‘Have mercy upon me, O God, According to Your lovingkindness; According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, Blot out my transgressions. For I acknowledge my transgressions, And my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned, And done this evil in Your sight’ Ps.51:1, 3-4.But you see God is saying to you today, “are you going to find true repentance or are you going to linger and wait for the explosion”. True Repentance II
Then David confessed to Nathan, “I’ve sinned against God.” Nathan pronounced, “Yes, but that’s not the last word. God forgives your sin. You won’t die for it. But because of your blasphemous behavior, the son born to you will die” 2Sam.12:13-14 [MSG].
You cannot use David as your justification for sexual impurity. David committed adultery once but you are on your tenth round. You are not David; you don’t even have a heart near David’s. You need to pray for one. Sometimes we only find true repentance when God disgraces us publicly and makes us publicly ashamed. It took David over one year to repent. Nathan finally came to meet him and made a public show of his sin. Why did it have to take that long? Read the rest of this entry
Maximize The Season
‘So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do’ Eph.5:15-17.
A lot of people that go through extreme rejection have serious inferiority complex. They react to things through the veil of that complex. But David did not have inferiority complex. He would not have been able to look his brothers in the eye. How do I know? When he needed to confront Eliab, he did it without resentment. ‘…and Eliab’s anger was aroused against David, and he said, “Why did you come down here? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the insolence of your heart… And David said, “What have I done now? Is there not a cause?”’ 1 Sam.17:28-29. In order words, David was saying, “why are you all sitting in the tent like cowards? Is there not a cause?” No inferiority complex! That is what being in the Presence of God does to you. Someone says “if you can kneel before God, you can stand before men”. Another thing that comes with intimacy with God, in the case of people that are suffering from intense rejection, is not having a superiority complex. Intimacy with God protects you from having inferiority or superiority complex. People come out of the season of rejection and I’m usually shocked how they treat others that are going through the exact same thing they went through. “Let him suffer, I worked for my money”. Have you heard that before? God delivered you from something, you see someone else going through the same thing and you think you are superior to the person? Even the little Egyptian boy, David stopped to fed him and help him because David knew what it is to be left alone in the wilderness to die.Thirdly, David’s intimacy with God healed him completely and David was able to open his heart for covenant relationships. For some, after going through rejection and pain, they become suspicious of everyone. God brings people into their lives to help them reach their destiny and they are suspicious. God brings Jonathans into their lives, instead of embracing him and striking a covenant relationship, they dwell on the suspicion that he can sell them out to Saul. They begin to conjure up theories that don’t exist. That is a sign that they have not utilized that season embracing God. Read the rest of this entry
God’s Mind!
‘Now the Lord said to Samuel, “You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”1 Sam.16:1.
God can change His mind. Even though this is coming as a shock to some of us. However, it is one truth we need to know and pray never happens in our case. With Samson, it was an angel that told his parents this boy is going to be a Nazarene to the day of his death. God never said this Samson was going to grind corn for the philistines. Samson kept pushing the boundary; he kept sleeping with the prostitutes and nothing happened. He kept behaving like a spoilt brat. Over and over until they cut off his locks, Read the rest of this entry

‘And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven’ Matt.16:19 [KJV].
Regardless of their size, their weight, or their hierarchy all the powers of hell will not conquer the church. Why, because Jesus says, “all the powers of hell will not conquer it’”. Simply put, the reason why you and I can expect to be victorious despite the resistance from the enemy is because Jesus says so!
