“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed” Isa.53:5 [KJV].
Isaiah talked about it in the future tense “…with His stripes we are healed” but Peter talks about it in the past tense, “…by His stripes we were healed”. This tells us that we really do not have to wait. If people like Isaiah, Elijah, and Elisha could look into the future and see Jesus, then we really do not have to wait. “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there” Gal.5:24. Do not toy with the desires of the flesh. Recognize the desires of their flesh and put it on the Cross of Calvary. Like someone beautifully puts it, “the Cross simply is the place where your will crosses with the will of the Holy Spirit”.
