Encounter

Acts 13:11 [MSG] “But now you’ve come up against God himself, and your game is up. You’re about to go blind—no sunlight for you for a good long stretch.” He was plunged immediately into a shadowy mist and stumbled around, begging people to take his hand and show him the way.”

The final thought from yesterday’s devotion was, do not go against someone that is on assignment because God will back him or her up even when he or she does things that do not make sense. Read the rest of this entry

Backed Up!

Matt.16:18 “This is why I have called you Peter (rock): for on this rock I will build My church. The church will reign triumphant even at the gates of hell.” [Voice]

Jesus wants you to be unstoppable. Why? It is because the church is made up of you and I. The church, the assembly of Jesus is made of lively stones and we are to be unstoppable. Read the rest of this entry

Big Picture

Isa.43:10 “…There is no other God— there never has been, and there never will be. 11 I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior… 13 From eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.” [with emphasis].

Unstoppable

John 1:12 (KJV) “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”

Before we get into today’s devotion, I want you to find it in your heart to be grateful to God. Just pick a point of gratitude and thank God. Read the rest of this entry

Sweet Holy Spirit

Ps. 119:103 (JUB) “How sweet have been thy spoken words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!”

Today, we will pick up from our last thought from yesterday’s devotional and that is, “You hold on to the Word until you hear His voice!” A profound truth I had never heard in my over two decades of walking with God. Read the rest of this entry

His Voice

Ps.29:3 “The voice of the Lord echoes above the sea. The God of glory thunders. The Lord thunders over the mighty sea. 4 The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.”

If we know how things will turn out, we will never panic no matter what. Some years ago, in my walk with and work for God, I told God that I would not pray about the weather anymore. Read the rest of this entry

God-High

Ps.25:1-2 (MSG) My head is high, God, held high; I’m looking to you, God; No hangdog skulking for me.

When you look to God and God alone, what people do to you really would not matter. You are able to forgive because your eyes are on God. I want to share a thought with you that has been resonating in my heart for a few weeks now and it is, Read the rest of this entry

Your Responsibility

Ps.119:37 (NIV) “Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word.”

D. L. Moody says, “We are to ask with beggar’s humility, to seek with a servant’s carefulness, and to knock with the confidence of a friend.” Based on the insight from this, we have learnt that it takes humility to ask. Read the rest of this entry

Humility 102

1 Kings 3:9 “Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”

Most times when we read about Solomon in 1 Kings 3:4-15, we are impressed with his wisdom in asking for wisdom. But the reality is that Solomon actually was admitting to God that he was not very smart. Read the rest of this entry

Humility 101

Luke 11:9 “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Yesterday, we concluded by saying that when Jesus says, ask – seek – knock, He is saying ask! Looking at it from the insight that D. L. Moody brings to the table, three things immediately stand out. The first is, it takes humility to ask. Asking puts you in a place of humility. Read the rest of this entry
