Dangerous Logic
“The officer assisting the king said to the man of God, “That couldn’t happen even if the Lord opened the windows of heaven!” But Elisha replied, “You will see it happen with your own eyes, but you won’t be able to eat any of it!” 2 Kings 7:2
The third thing that makes us doubt the reliability of Jesus is our logic. Please read John 20:24-30. This is the story of Thomas. Thomas was not present when the resurrected Christ showed Himself to His disciples. When he returned, Jesus had left. “They told him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands, put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side” John 20:25. Troubles
“Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke Him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?” When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Mark.4:38-39.
A lot of us are looking at our life’s calendar and saying, by now I should have done xyz and abc. You have to understand that Jesus is reliable. What He said He will do, He will do. If He needs to raise the dead, the dead will rise. Jesus does not love you less if He does not show up based on your timing. Jesus did not love Lazarus any Read the rest of this entry
Prisoner Of Time?
“Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died… When Mary arrived and saw Jesus, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if only you had been here, my brother would not have died.” John 11:21 & 32.
When our timing does not sync with God’s timing we begin to doubt His reliability. Mary and Martha sent a message to Jesus, “the one You love is sick”. But Jesus did not respond based on their timing. Instead He stayed behind even though He loved Lazarus, Jesus did not operate with the timing of Mary and Martha. Jesus eventually Read the rest of this entry
Reliable God!
“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end” Ecc.3:11
Reliability is something that we crave in our relationships. If you are in any kind of relationship with anyone, you will subconsciously crave for the person to be at least reliable. Imagine having colleagues that are not reliable and having to work on the same project with them. As a businessman, imagine having some employees that are Read the rest of this entry
It Is Well
“The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time” Ps.34:19.
A wise man said, when you go through a challenging time, it can do one of three things:
#1. It can destroy you. But I am praying because Jesus is with you, it will not destroy you. Read the rest of this entry
With Me And For Me
“…And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matt.28:20
What empowers you to live a life of purity is the fact that Jesus is near. Guess what, Jesus is not only near but He is watching to see what you will do. There are many things that you are struggling with today that you will receive instant deliverance from, just with the full realization of the Presence of Jesus beside you. And guess Read the rest of this entry
Close Watch
“You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do” Ps.139:2-3.
What do the people closest to you feel? Do they feel an overwhelming awareness of your love or do they feel an overwhelming awareness of your criticism? If you are married, the closest person to you is your spouse. So how does your spouse really feel around you? Does he or she have an overwhelming awareness that you love him or Read the rest of this entry
Embrace It, Walk In It
“God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins” 1 John 4:9-10.
So now you don’t have to question God’s love for you any more. Now you know without any doubt that God really loves you. If Martha and Mary were to benchmark their love for Jesus, they would say, ‘The ointment of our life savings, we gave to You’. When God is to benchmark His love for them, He will say, ‘My Son, My only Son I gave to you’. So where do you want to hinge your request – on your works or on His Read the rest of this entry
He Loves You
“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute… No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” Rom.8:35 & 37.
It is difficult to sin with Jesus right beside you, extremely difficult. When you read Psalm 139:1-12 [please read], you will quickly realize that there is nowhere you can go to hide from God. God is everywhere. Jesus is near. Regardless of our proximity to Jesus, we still need to get His attention. Married people will attest to the fact that a Read the rest of this entry
Walking In Purity
‘So be very careful to love the Lord your God’ Josh.23:11
“Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world” James 4:8. God is extending a relationship invitation to you. But you will notice that He immediately says wash your hands, you sinners. It is a strange thing to talk about the Gospel without talking about sin. A lot of people don’t want to talk about sin these Read the rest of this entry
