Speak Up

Est.4:16Go and gather together all the Jews of Susa and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will do the same. And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.”

The beauty about our relationship with God is that whenever we call on Him, He hears us and answers us. Scriptures give us many examples of God’s faithfulness through answered prayers. Over the next few days we are going to be looking at examples of people in the Bible that encountered God, how God changed their destinies and they moved forward.

Our first example is Esther. King Xerxes had a problem with his wife and she was dethroned. His search for a new queen led him to Esther and she became the new queen. Esther moved from a place of disadvantage – a captive and an orphan, to a place of security, comfort, and prosperity very quickly. But Esther was in the midst of pagans. Now that God has changed your destiny and repositioned you, who are the people around you?

Just when things seemed to be going on well, her uncle Mordecai informed her about a plot to annihilate the Jews. Esther was in a new place; she could either choose her comfort or choose to risk her new placement for God. For those of us in similar situations where you have just experienced a major breakthrough and then your new level is threatened. Look at Esther and be encouraged. She could have kept quiet because that was the easiest thing to do. But she reminded her self of God’s goodness, His protection and provision and she gave up the promotion so to speak. Esther trusted God, approached the king and had an encounter with God. It is written that the king stretched out his scepter and favoured her. I believe that that was God stretching out His scepter of favour and acceptance, changing Esther’s destiny for good.

Do not get to the place of God’s promotion and relax; speak up for God and by God’s grace change the destinies of the people around you. Esther did not die, you will not die. Instead, you will change the history of your family and your generation for good, in Jesus name. This life will present us with situations where it is God or nothing. I pray that like Esther, you will choose God.

Prayer: Father, I declare that I will not trade the gift for the Giver, in Jesus Name. I will stand tall and speak up for God in my sphere of influence, in Jesus Name. Amen!
