Single Minded

Ex.17:10 Joshua did exactly as Moses had instructed him to do…[Voice] 13 As a result, Joshua overwhelmed the army of Amalek in battle [NLT, with emphasis]

In your business, maintain a single line of command. In your home, it must be a single line of command. In your life, it must be a single line of command. Joshua could have challenged Moses instruction, “Why do I have to be the one to risk getting killed on the battle field? Let us switch places, you go and fight and give me the rod of God and I will stand on the mountain.” But who determined the victory, was it Joshua’s militancy or Moses on the hill? Aaron and Hur could have said to Moses, “Now that your hands are tired, it is our turn to carry the rod of God too. We all want to be used by God, so let us all take turns.” That is how the world would respond but spiritual things do not work like that.

The question at every point is, what does the Word of God say? Maintain the single line of command. Are you doing exactly as you have been instructed? Start with your personal life, enforce and maintain a single line of command. Be determined that it is only God’s Word and counsel that will stand in your life and not God’s counsel and a friend’s opinion. A confused line of command is knowing what God says and then seeking your friend’s opinion. You have to choose to enforce what God has said regardless of what your friend has to say. And this is because it is only what God has said, that will stand.

When people do not maintain a single line of command and begin to listen to different voices, then doubt sets in. Friends always have their ideas of how you should run your life. God has given you an instruction but by the time five friends [five voices] begin to give their own opinion, confusion sets in. And before you know it, you begin to doubt God. Doubt is the greatest clog in the flow of power. Doubt shuts off the flow of power. You will greatly simplify your life if you maintain a single line of command. Rom.4:17 “…Abraham believed in the God… 18 Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!”

Prayer: Father, Your Spirit and Your Word are the sole authority in my life, in Jesus Name. Amen!
