Two Parts

1Cor.3:9 “We are gardeners and field workers laboring with God. You are the vineyard, the garden, the house where God dwells” [Voice, with emphasis]

The harvest of birth is miracle. Science has not been able to explain the first heartbeat in a baby. They do not know how it happens or when it will happen. They can explain how the sperm meets with the egg and how the baby forms after the heartbeat comes but they cannot explain the heartbeat. But we know that it is the breath of the Almighty and it is a miracle. Since harvest is a miracle, over the next few days we are going to learn the way to abundant harvest. So in a sense, we are learning the way to abundant miracle harvest.

There are two parts to the working of miracles. The first part to the working of miracle is the Working and the second part is the Miracle. The first part [the working] is man’s part. And the second part [the miracle] is God’s part. The work is our responsibility and God does the miracle. But the challenge with human beings is that we flip to different extremes. Some extremes feel that they do not have to do anything; God will just rain miracles from heaven. They do not want to do anything but they want miracles. It is the challenge of a lot of developing countries, particularly those that are Christians; Nigeria Christians at that.

To think that miracles will just fall from heaven is not correct because we cannot do God’s part but God will not do our part. We have a part to play. While we cannot play God’s part, God will not do our part. On the other extreme, we have people that have learnt the workings and they have seen miracles. In fact, sometimes they do not acknowledge it as a miracle but it is actually a miracle. The people on this extreme know how this system works so they feel that they do not need God. And this is usually the challenge of the western world, the developed countries; they feel they do not need God.

But let no man deceive himself. No man can by himself perform a miracle. No matter how anointed a man is, by himself, he cannot heal the most common ailment – a headache, a sneeze. We need God and God does not want us to lose sight of that fact.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, in the working of miracles, empower me to consistently do my part. I will not be weak, I will not faint, and I will not be weary, in Jesus Name. Amen!
