Hunger Rate

Ps.63:1 “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water” [NKJV]

The third thing that increases the rate of energy transfer is hunger. The rate of change of temperature in electricity is called the potential difference. Energy flows from high potential to low potential – potential difference. In other words, all power belongs to God and He is able to make it available to us. But the amount that flows to me is determined by how hungry I am. If you put a sponge and a stone in the same body of water, when you bring both of them out, the stone will only have water on the surface. And once that water dries off, the stone will remain as dry as it was previously. The sponge on the other hand would have soaked and retained so much of the water that it will be overflowing.

The difference is that the sponge is hungry but the stone is not. The problem is not the water. The problem was not with the mantle, the problem was that Gehazi was not hungry. Hunger is so powerful. For instance, science tells us that the only way to dilute acid is to put acid in water. You never put water in acid and it is because acid is so hungry that if you pour water in acid, it is going to explode.

God wants us to be hungry. The reason why the power did not flow to Gehazi was because he was not hungry for what Elisha had. Some time back, we had a worship session with a small group of people in church. What usually happens is that the entire church worships and when that ends, we go into a session of intense worship with the smaller group. Guess what? Some people would stay behind and worship from a distance. That is the picture of hunger and that is what God wants. They remind me of myself; even if the doors were locked, I would stay in the parking lot and worship. Hunger is always on display.

The fourth thing that we see in the life of Gehazi and which physics tells us, is the thickness of the material. In other words, if all the other conditions are the same, it will take a longer time for energy to move over a thick object and less time for a thin object. Gehazi was full of himself, full of his own ideas and of his own will.
