Right Judgment

2 kings 6:11 “The king of Aram… demanded, “Which of you is the traitor? Who has been informing the king of Israel of my plans?” 12 “It’s not us, my lord the king,” one of the officers replied. “Elisha, the prophet in Israel, tells the king of Israel even the words you speak in the privacy of your bedroom!”

The background to today’s scripture reference is, the king of Aram was at war with Israel. The Bible says that whatever battle strategy Aram came up with, even if the strategy session was in the king’s bedroom, Elisha would hear it immediately and warn the king of Israel. How could Elisha hear it if he was not there? That is your homework; take 2 kings 6, sit before God and He will reveal deep secrets to you. By God’s grace, sometimes I deploy this grace, I follow people home and listen in on what they say in their bedrooms. When they show up before me, I confront their secret conversations and they immediately start accusing each other. No one but the Holy Ghost!

The reason I am sharing all this with you is not so that yogru can be dumbfounded by my “spirituality”. I am sharing this with you because you are a leader; whether you are in business or at home, you are a leader. You are going to run businesses, you are going to captain industries [say amen], and you are going to be at the apex of your profession and expertise. You would have people like this also. Sometimes, they are not even after you. Just like the high officials in the story were not after Darius. They have a controlling spirit that wants to hold the organization captive.

Such people are happy that Dairus is king; they do not have any issues with you as a Pastor. But they just want to have a hold on things and a say in decisions. As the leader, you have a mandate to break that hold. Since everything rises and falls on leadership, it is Dairus’ fault actually from a leadership perspective. Although God miraculously delivered Daniel from the persecution, He has chosen not to do the same for many other Godly people of the Bible. Abel, for example, was a righteous man, but God chose not to deliver him from Cain and Cain killed him. John the Baptist, a righteous man, but he was beheaded.

Stephen was stoned to death and Jesus received him into heaven. Why did Jesus not save Phillip, we sometimes wonder? John 16:33 “…Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” Do not be deceived, God does not always save His people from difficult circumstances and that is the truth. Rom.8:28 “…God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”

Prayer: Father, I ask for wisdom and knowledge, the spirit of discernment to lead and govern the great people you have given to me, in Jesus Name. Amen! [2 Chro.1:10]
