Ps.100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.” [with emphasis].
Remember the resurrection story; after Jesus resurrected and Mary wanted to hug Him, Jesus refused because He had not yet taken the Blood of atonement to the altar in heaven. God gave Moses an image [a type] of access to Him in the design of the tabernacle and that is how it is in Heaven. If you understand the tabernacle, then what David was saying in Ps.100 will begin to make sense.
The tabernacle is the one in the middle, the gate is at the east side. The children of Israel are supposed to pitch their tent around the tabernacle – Zebulun, Gad, Rueben, Simon, Benjamin, Ephraim, Manasseh, Asaph, Naphtali, the tribe God put at the gate is Judah. Do you know why God positioned Judah at the gates? Judah is praise; enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Praise gives you access to His gates. That gate was a physical gate but what we have now is a spiritual gate which makes it even more difficult because your heart speaks as you approach the gate.
Ps.100:4 “Enter with the password: “Thank you!” Make yourselves at home, talking praise. Thank him.” [MSG, with emphasis]. Enter His courts with praise – the first is the outer court and has two items in it the altar of sacrifice and the brazen lava. Second is the inner courts and it has three items – the table of shewbread, the golden lampstand and the altar of incense. Your attitude must still be that of gratitude, of praise and worship. The third is the innermost court also known as the Holy of Holies and it contains only one item which is the ark of the covenant with the mercy seat on top. You come face to face with God with gratitude and praise in your heart. Worship flows automatically when you are face to face with God and then you discover that nothing else matters – not the anger, or the prayer list, nothing!
Prayer [song]: When I look into Your holiness. When I gaze into Your loveliness. When all things that surround become shadows in the light of You. I worship You I worship You… Amen!
