Right Attitude

Ps.95:2 (The Voice) “Come face-to-face with God, and give thanks; with loud and joyful voices, praise Him in songs.”

Heb.11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him...” [with emphasis]. How does the Bible instruct us to come to God? Ps.95:2 “Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.” You come to God with thanksgiving and with praise. When you come to God, yes you have a prayer list, but you come with thanksgiving. You may have been treated badly at the office and you are deeply upset about it. But when it is time to pray, do not come with anger, come with gratitude. You need to pay attention to this because God is showing you that your attitude determines your access to God.

You may be feeling bad but do not come to Him with a bad attitude. A lot of people think they are justified to show up in God’s presence feeling angry or bad. Keep your anger at the door and come with thanksgiving. God knows you are tired, but heavenly protocol demands that you shake it off, do not come with tiredness, come with gratitude. Yes, you have been disappointed, but God says do not come with disappointment, come with gratitude. Some people will argue that the Bible says we should come to God without strong points and with how we feel. That teaching is not complete, pay attention because you are about to receive sound doctrine. [say Amen].

Ps.100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.” [with emphasis]. The Bible does not say come into His gates with prayer requests, or with prayer lists. Note that the word “courts” in the above quoted scripture is plural. Let me explain, the Old Testament is a shadow of the New Testament. God gave Moses an image [a type] of access to Him in the design of the tabernacle and that is how it is in Heaven.

Prayer [song]: Let’s for – get about our – selves and magnify the Lord and worship Him (3x). Oh worship Him, Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen!
