Going Through

Heb.4:15-16 “This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

This Jesus that tells us not to stop calling had to go through this Himself. Please read Matt.26:36-46. Have you ever gotten to a point on a certain issue where you say to God, ‘if it is possible, let this be taken away’? Have you ever gotten to a point where you say to God, this is too hard for me? Jesus has been there.

Over the next few days, we will learn how to overcome the most challenging situations from Jesus because we will overcome. Sometimes we get to a point where our souls are crushed. Jesus got to that point and tried to negotiate with God for another way. The truth is that sometimes life is just hard even though you are in God’s will. God opens the door and makes a way and by default we expect ease, but we discover that it is hard.

Three times Jesus prayed and those three times, Jesus was saying the same thing. Some people try to tell us that saying the same things in prayer is vain repetition. However, we have established that in prayer, not every repetition is vain repetition. Sometimes, you get to a point where your soul is deeply crushed. At such points, it does not really matter what you are saying at that point. What matters is expressing your heart, your burden and that anguish to God. So, someone can be repeating “God help, God heal, God help, God heal” in the place of prayer because of the ‘cup’ that is before them. Which is why speaking in tongues is so beautiful.

Some people are trying to convince us that being a Christian means that everything will be rosy. It is a lie and it is not even consistent with scriptures. The Bible is filled with people with difficulty. However, the beautiful thing is that they always prevail. You will prevail in Jesus Name. So, you have a problem, big deal! Jesus had problems, are you bigger than Him? Some people say Jesus died so that we will never have problems. Not so; Jesus died so that we will overcome our problems. Jesus Himself says, in the world, you will have tribulations but be of good cheer I have overcome the world. You cannot separate suffering from Christianity. It is part of our message.

Suffering is a part of the life of the Christian. You cannot separate it. To try to separate it is to try to deny the fundamentals of the faith. But God is giving us strategies and principles that guarantee that we pull through the suffering. Principles that guarantee that we are not buried with the suffering.  Jesus went through suffering and came out on top; you are coming out on top.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I ask for new strength by Your Spirit, to run and not be weary, to walk and not faint, until the Lord makes me the pride of the whole earth, in Jesus Name. Amen!
