God’s Throne

Psalm 46:^3-5 “though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” (NIV)

The throne of God is established. Even if the heavens and the earth are shaking, guess what? God’s throne remains eternal, immutable, and immovable. God’s throne is forever and ever. Psalm 45:⁶ “Your throne, O God, endures forever and ever. You rule with a sceptre of justice.” The Throne of God is eternal. It is immutable, it does not change. It is established and it is immovable it cannot be moved or shaken. It is beautiful to serve a God whose throne cannot be shaken. There is no politician on earth whose throne cannot be shaken, none! There is no corporate position that you can have that cannot be shaken. There is no position that you can get, even in the business that you own, that cannot be shaken.

The Throne of God cannot be shaken. Hebrews 1:^10-12 “…In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever. They will wear out like old clothing. You will fold them up like a cloak and discard them like old clothing. But you are always the same; you will live forever.” So how does this apply to us? Firstly, it brings encouragement that if everything else can be shaken, the Throne of our God cannot be shaken. And because God is on the throne, it is, and it shall be well with you in the Name of Jesus. How do I know that? It is simple, God is still on the throne and His throne is unshakable. His throne is solid. And because He is on the throne, it is well.

And our response is to come boldly according to Hebrews 4:¹⁶ “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (emphasis added). We are to come boldly to the throne that cannot be shaken. The throne of God to the world can be a throne of judgment. But to us His children, it is the throne of grace. Our response is to come boldly to the throne of grace. Do you need help? Do you look at your future and it looks hazy? And you know that you need help. Come to the throne of grace and you will find help.

God’s throne cannot be shaken, it is immovable, immutable, and eternal, and it cannot be shaken. The first thing that is immovable is the Throne of God. The second thing that cannot be shaken is the Word of God. Mark 13:³¹ “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.” (NIV). This is so beautiful because you have a reference for your life.

Prayer: Father, I come boldly to Your unshakable throne today, show me Your mercy, robe me with Your grace, in Jesus Name. Amen!
